Sure, but it's not as different as people make it out to be.

There are people in the US who deny these things, yes, but it's not the nearly 100% "nothing wrong ever happened here" denial that Japan goes through.

i liked Hey Arnold but tbh Arnold's bizarre head shape is one of the first things i think of when people say Nickelodeon cartoons are grotesque

it was still easier for kid me to connect with than most Nickelodeon shows, though
