Also, to put my two cents in very late, Invisible Woman only had forcefields in the latter part of her career. At the beginning, she just had the power to be invisible. So, yeah, she's one of the relics from that time in media when women were supposed to stay in the kitchen.
Researchers at Princeton and Indiana University proved this by having one group of people read stories in 16-point Arial and others in the much more difficult to process 12-point Comic Sans MA and 12-point Bodoni MT. Quite simply, they found that the people given the shitty font retained the information better.
I wonder if someone will end up setting an entire book in Comic Sans just for the utter hell of it. Horribly distorted, 10th-generation JPEG images are, of course, optional. XD
