At campus I have to park on the far end of campus and travel a mile and a half to my classes so you can bet I take the campus buses 95% of the time.

Hee hee, "Palice"
ALSO while I'm thinking about it
Do the buses where y'all live have pull cords or push bars to request a stop?

Meanwhile, the University's buses stop at every stop, which makes the cords/bars completely useless. :P

Is that really it? Double the abbreviation to indicate there's more than one? That seems kind of absurd, somehow.
In some languages, the convention of doubling the letters in the acronym is used to indicate plural words: for example, the Spanish EE. UU., for Estados Unidos ('United States'). This old convention is still followed for a limited number of English abbreviations, such as SS. for Saints, pp. for the Latin plural of 'pages', paginae, or MSS for 'manuscripts'.

not gonna lie this seriously weirds me out
like "there's more than one, so i'll write it twice!" seems like four-year-old logic to me, not something that should be in formal writing

granted, i'm biased because I always resented that we can't just use "pg." and "pgs." in formal writing the same way we do in informal writing because ~tradition~ or whatever

Kids don’t need to learn that the real world is unfair and they just have to deal with it.
Kids need to learn that the real world is unfair and it’s their duty to do everything they can to make the parts they can control a little bit more fair.
I suppose I have this idea of a personified Truth that plays favorites and picks on certain people. Like reality is a rigged game.
So, in the fact of a game that is rigged, I would like to refuse to play, and instead kick over the table of ideas and opinions and just yell "INDULGE ME". Either that, or not ply in the first place, which means either agreeing with what anybody says, or keeping silent when I disagree.
I mean just once, just flipping ONCE, I'd like to be right and everyone who disagreed with me to have been terribly wrong. Something so I can be on the other side of this dogpile, and so my stupid whim defines reality, and so I get to gloat and laugh at the people who foolishly disagreed with me.
Like, a moment where everyone goes all, "aw, dang, Aliroz was right all along! Marijuana is responsible for global warming and our frequent f-bombs caused the hole in the ozone layer. Nutella is not actually delicious. Steven fry's voice isn't actually all that easy on the ears! Alcohol is yucky and disease can be avoided by not showering ever"!

Things I hadn't noticed until now: the thread-closing button is hidden in the cog menu now.
That just shows you how infrequently I close threads.

And for fun, here's a direct quote from their manifesto: "We will support families by providing free meals to all infants."
they are evil, and they don't care
all kids get free school meals now, so maybe this won't apply to families below the poverty line
i hope it won't, anyway
