I feel like you greatly overestimate the investment the average person has in professional sports
There are people who get overly fanatical about it but most people aren't like that
he probably was not using the same metrics that you are using
like, compared to most people I am a big anime fan
but like I don't have hyperventilating screaming fits about my waifu or whatever
so like if someone says "I'm a big sports fan" i would not think that they mean to say "I catch every game and buy the merchandise and know all the players and celebrate when they win and am sad when they lose" not "I'm a dysfunctional shell of a human being who is traumatized when my favorite team loses a big game"

Maybe I'm basing this on some of the people who've wrote into the WYTS articles (someone on one of the New York Giants ones said, with apparent total seriousness, that the days the team won Super Bowls XLII and XLVI were two of the five happiest days of their life)
I remember when SA would get really mad at TvTropes for saying stuff like that, because apparently nerds being able to fixate on nerd stuff in unhealthy ways overrules people fixating on sports in unhealthy ways.

I admit sometimes I get envious of sports fandom over this, then I realize that maybe nobody should go that apeshit over anything
Like, it's just an accepted truism that something like Last Action Hero must be bad in some way, because it didn't do well commercially.
Dude, I spent like days arguing with some guy who could not be budged on his position that if something does well commercially it means that a bunch of people put 'likes' on it like you do on social media or some shit, so it has to be good. It was a headache.
After spending a day talking to ISPs, If I never have to talk to the sales division for an ISP, I will be happy. But mostly Verison. If nothing else, I will never use Verison's services, purely out of spite because the guy I spoke to was a condescending piece of shit.
i maintain that Christopher Eccleston's series had the best character arcs of any season since the revival, and Christopher Eccleston was an excellent Doctor (though since he was my first i am a bit biased)
Tennant is my favorite Doctor, mainly because he was the first actor I saw in the role.
the other canonical Moffat stories being "The Girl in the Fireplace" and "Blink", incidentally, though i've always been a big fan of "The Eleventh Hour", myself.
He also did "Silence in the Library" and "forest of the Dead". Which are the first two Dr Who episodes I ever saw.

i am unsure whether those two qualify as 'canonical' given the backlash over River and the somewhat controversial ending.

Basically whenever I find myself thinking "I wonder how old X building is" or "I wonder when they built the expansion wing of Y building" I can just look there and find an answer, which is neat
wow
this is a cool thing and i wish my uni had something like that
(admittedly, it was a much smaller and less prestigious uni)
This is a couple days old but it was interesting to see my school described as "prestigious"
Like I always just thought of it as "yet another state college"
But it is the third largest US university by enrollment, so I guess it is pretty special...

Reminds me, actually. New guy in my choir apparently transferred out of your school to mine.

Go me.

that is not a normal or good level of investment
hi heap

i liked them, nonetheless.
