verdict on machine washing leather jackets (or at least this leather jacket): it definitely changes the shine of the jacket, makes it look more mate + expensive, and it did shrink the jacket somewhat, but not as much as i had hoped. might keep the jacket, might not
Unrelated: Dead Money is dumb. Disappoint. Wanted more loot.
are you playing Fallout: New Vegas Aliroz?
Yeah. Which one is the one with the mormons?
New Vegas. Specifically, they appear in the Honest Hearts DLC.
Yes, I got all 37 gold bars.
Funny, I just started Honest Hearts. That crashed bus with the scouts made me cry. And new Canaan's gone?
**** you Caesar!
Okay, cool. Did you gamble until you got banned from the casino? You can trade all the chips you make for paper money, which isn't worth much by itself, but when you can sell 10,000 of them for 9 caps each, it really adds up. Plus, you get the complimentary voucher in the dropbox, plus 100 chips, which basically gives you 1,100 chips every 3 days.
Honestly, the first time I played through New Vegas, Dead Money was my least favorite DLC, but it's grown on me, partially because of it being a reference to The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
Yeah, That scout bus was a pretty grim reminder of the effects and the tragedy of the war, even in a place that's still one of the few places that's still beautiful and isn't a blasted wasteland. And yeah, **** you Caesar! indeed. Also, make sure you pick up the Survivalist's rifle, which is one of my favorite weapons in the game.
The gold bars are super heavy. You're not supposed to take it with you.
Yeah I know. Totally against the moral of the story, but if you do it right, you can sneak out without fighting Elijah, even while over-encumbered. Fallout just brings out the kleptomaniac in me.
this is basically apropos of nothing and i dont know chinese or anything but if there is any point in my life when i can impulsively move to another country now is probably the most convenient time
weird life development: might end up moving to china?
what
it is literally easier for me, with the degree i have and no formal job experience, to get a job in china than here. same for my boyfriend.
it would be probably only on a year long contract or so, i can save up and go travelling a bit afterwards and come back with a year of actual job experience on my CV. plus living in a vaporwave dystopia sounds p cool

The Barnes & Noble college bookstore was going to charge me $48 for an access card for my online chem homework, and I'd have to wait another week or so for them to have it in stock.
Or I could buy access through the website directly for $30 even.
I called and cancelled the B&N order and just went with the cheaper option, naturally. I don't appreciate the bookstore trying to rip me off.

This is what my little brother ended up doing. It sounds like a great deal, but I just didn't have it in me to uproot myself. (Also, when he asked me to join him, I thought "I can't, I have a life here and friends who would miss me" and then spent the next two years hilariously failing in that department.)

I don't understand the appeal of Central Campus parking permits
Pay $200 more for the privilege of driving through narrow streets crowded with pedestrians in the hopes you can find a parking space before they're all taken? No thanks.
I can't even imagine you save much time vs parking on West Campus and riding the bus to class because you waste so much time navigating Central Campus traffic
And also possi8ly in my hair, at least if I'm 8eing Vriska. Ozzy's hair is well-groomed and doesn't contain spiders. Vriska's is a mess and may contain spiders.
Kinda like in that ur8an legend with the 8eehive hairdo, 8ut Vriska wouldn't mind having them in there.
My bank is being super-helpful and nice. The person I talked to via phone at the Target in California where the illicit purchase was made was extremely unhelpful and acted like I was trying to accuse her of something.

You have to talk directly to the merchant? Wow, that's shitty, the bank should be handling the dispute for you.

I don't have to, the lady at the bank said that sometimes the corporation can handle this faster.
In this case they didn't, so the bank's going to do what they're going to do.

ya this is basically what im wondering right now. i have a lot of friends here and it would be a big move to just up and disappear off to china. also while i want to travel and work somewhere abroad at some point, and im def open to doing it once i finish my masters, im not sure that china is the place i want to do it. however china is the easiest place to do it for someone like me, who does not have a tefl qualification or experience. and my boyfriend has neither of these things either. realistically its gonna be difficult to find 2 jobs like that in the same place anywhere but china. tbh its kinda crazy that you can just go over with a degree in any subject and nothing else, as an english speaker, and get hired, but there you go. anyhow im gonna sleep on it because it sounds like basically the job is there if i want it
It's weird, but for me the best part of Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past was hearing weird legends or mysteries from people then finding out what the deal was.
I did the dungeons just to find out what flute kid's deal was.
"I don't want this to come across as me inveighing against depressed people, because that is not even remotely what I mean, but I do get a little bothered by internet DAE-miserable, my-life-is-empty-haha-me-too-ism, especially when it metastasizes into this fucking execrable, profoundly destructive "depression is just what happens when you're too smart for existence" garbage. There's something to be said for commiseration, but at a certain point it becomes irresponsible discourse that could kick off damaging feedback loops in the minds of the many impressionable, nascently depressed teenagers who frequent these kinds of online spaces.

I don't like it.
The feels...
Assassin poems, Poems that shoot
guns. Poems that wrestle cops into alleys
and take their weapons leaving them dead

disappointing
then i drank it
Considering I go to sleep listening to it, it's not that odd, though the fact it's persisted after listening to other music is a little odd.
There are spiders in there, you know.

I think that is why I had the dream

Not to mention it's just fucking incorrect."
