I was indeed speaking of Lindisfarne! And yes, those accents, particularly that one... apparently it only really survives around Holy Island, but it's ancient; Shakespeare referenced it. The one with the guttural R. It is a really wonderful accent.

Sometimes realism is fun, if it fits in with the tone and story of the game. The Last of Us is has a serious tone and story, and so realism is vital. But it is still a fun game and is in my Top Five games of all time.

Other times, realism is chucked out the window in place of just pure fun. Sunset Overdrive, for example, has no realism at all and is completely crazy. But given the tone and story of the game, and given who developed the game, it all works.

And once again, I may have lost my point amongst my insane ramblings.

...And even when your hope is gone
move along, move along, just to make it through
    (2015 self)
So, I have $400.00 or so in the bank, and $250.00 in a jar (birthday money collected for my whole life).

Next summer, I get a job (I have to, money's tight). THis is my last summer of being ale to have fun and be free, and I wanted to spend that $250.

And now I'm mature enough that I'm going to use that money on a textbook. Man, I wanted to do something absolutely insane with that $250 of money, I've been saving it up my entire childhood and adult life.

Woooooooo, this is what it all lead up to.

Dangit, I wanted to buy hardcovers of JJBA: Phantom Blood and JJBA: Battle Tendency.

Or maybe buy fifty one-dollar games on Steam or Good old Games.

But it's not really my money, or, rather, I have to be a responsible adult.

If I'd known, I would have bought those things I wanted as a kid.

Aliroz, please, just rent the book off of Chegg or borrow it from the library or something.

No one should have to use their childhood dreams on a textbook.

It's kinda funny how The Magic School Bus books included disclaimer-like explanations at the end saying how it's all fake.

The show did this too, at least in the original run...at the end there'd be a segment where an upset viewer called the producers and sciencesplained about all the stuff they fudged.

Sadly, they tend to cut this bit out in syndication to fit in more commercials...

Weird thought: there are Heapers (albeit not many) who are younger than Dolly the Sheep would have been if she was still alive

Like, they were just born and grew up in a world where cloning animals is known to be a thing that can be done.
  • shouldn't that be subjunctive mood, "if she were stil alive"?

english just uses helper verbs for everything, which makes it confusnig when exposed to the idea of a different mood
