Episodes where Dennis faces the threat of losing Gnasher (his dog) are good. We know that Pieface and Curly can't be taken away, they have their own unseen parents looking out for them, but Gnasher is only a dog.
Gnasher is Dennis's closest friend, and it's neat seeing Dennis have something that can have leverage on him; something that he cares about and he will be hurt if it is taken from him. And kids have very little power, as do dogs. If the adults decide to do something about Gnasher, it can very well be outside of Dennis's power to get him back.
In my opinion, the idea hasn't yet been used to its full potential; but if it were, it could be good. Dennis with nothing to lose, all the motivation he could ever need, and big stakes; I'd use it for a finale.
i felt Dennis was significantly toned down for the TV cartoon.
Walter was certainly much more malicious in the cartoon than in the comics i read as a kid; in those, Walter certainly wasn't on equal footing with Dennis (many of the strips didn't even feature him), he was just this snooty, wimpy boy who Dennis liked to prank or bully, and who sometimes unwisely provoked Dennis by being a snob.
My hair has just had a double shampooing and double conditioning.
I used normal shampoo, couldn't find some conditioner so used so Head and Shoulders 2in1 stuff that left my hair feeling like straw. So I dug around in my sister's bathroom and found some good conditioner. So now my hair is extra clean and extra smooth (and probably extra greasy)

Or not.
A more recent addition to Dennis the Menace, then.
Also i notice her character design has changed somewhat:
