It didnt seem to me like he was saying that men and women are inherently different, more that the way we are socialized differently creates problems
which is something I would agree with
i would also agree with this, but this stuff about 'men are not optimized for this, women are not optimized for that' is a weird way of putting it, if that's what he's getting at
and this paragraph is completely melodramatic dystopian SF gibberish:
I find it all too easy to imagine a world in which men retreat to their optimized sweet sexy catgirls, and women retreat to their optimized darkly gentle catboys, and neither sex has anything to do with each other ever again. Maybe men would take the east side of the galaxy and women would take the west side. And the two new intelligent species, and their romantic sexbots, would go their separate ways from there.
i think the 'gay couples are statistically happier' thing is an interesting observation
IIRC gay couples are also somewhat more likely to break up after a certain period of time and the members of said couple are much more likely to remain on friendly terms afterwards.
i dont remember what study this was from though, but it seems true from both my personal experience and my observations of other queer people
see the thing is that he's implying that this is both 100% true and also bad.

I think this is mostly a function of his personality, which i would not hold against him.

i don't think he is, i think he's saying it's regrettable that straight couples aren't equally happy

the only thing i have in common with Yudkowsky is we're both boring nerds with no sense of curiosity, an overly literalist and black-and-white perspective on the world and an obsession with self-improvement
i may be more self-aware than him, but i'm not terribly self-aware so i can't be sure

well, you are not an asshole. which is the important thing.
My favorite thing about LMFAO is that "Running through these hoes like drano" is apparently such a good line that Red Foo saw fit to use it in two separate songs.
Just lost my Eden streak of 19 in BoI: R to something entirely avoidable, if annoying (Crazy Longlegs, like others, are why I dislike the Cellar). I think that run pretty easily had winning potential, though the fault was all on me. All that aside, I can now say I've given the idea of playing for streaks a fair shake, and gosh are they boring.

See, I think "rise to the top, no led in our zeppelin" is a much better line that is halfway-clever.

i don't think there's anything here to indicate this is evo-psych but i wouldn't put it past him, either

honestly though i think Yudkowsky is to me sorta what CWC is to CA, in terms of making me anxious about myself
only CA is much, much smarter than CWC, whereas Yudkowsky is definitely smarter than me in certain respects
i'm referring to how CA found CWC unsettling in a my-faults-writ-large kinda way
