The Thing is just a Grey Hulk who can't switch back.
The human torch, well, I kind of object to superheroes who only have fire powers. These days, l generally like my supes to save people more than punch people. Fire isn't really a saving people sort of power. Tends to hurt people actually

The thing about fire powers is that it's generally used in one direction "Create fire" Fire is a concept of many symbolisms, writers are just boring with fire.
Or, more accurately, his scientific powers outweigh the usefulness of his superpowers

The thing that bugs me about Harley is how much stuff portrays her relationship with the Joker as perfectly normal (well, as much as two murderous psychopaths working together can be anyway), instead of, yannow, massively one sided and unpleasant.
Do people really do that? I mean, I don't read much comics, but in BTAS, the episode Mad Love is literally about how abusive the Joker/Harley relationship is. Hell, I'm pretty sure watching that episode was how I became aware of the concept of abuse.
I've always thought that The Incredibles was a much better execution of the potential of the Fantastic Four concept than almost anything that seems to have been done with the Fantastic Four themselves.

I'm kinda curious how a kids' TV show that is almost a quarter-century old is more mature in that respect (among others) than modern adult-oriented comics are.

Well hte problem with a lot of adult oriented comics is that it's less "here is a story aimed at adults" and more "here is a story with some superficial elements like sex, and more extreme violence, without any kind of moral or emotional weight that would make them actually adult"
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
My favorite run on Fantastic Four (Hickman's run) uses absolutely none of the Four's powers in interesting ways.
Instead, it's about family, and learning from each other, and hurting each other, and being there for each other. Like with time travel. That's what I feel they do best, when they are first and foremost a family, and the story is shaped around that.

I remember there was a point in time when the Fantastic Four got cheated out of their finances, went broke, and Johnny Storm became a firefighter. Y'know, because he can control and absorb fire.

I remember it being really hard on him.
I had the feeling that you'd come up with a counter example somehow.
You know how I hate being touched? Grandma was constantly touching my cardigan and fiddling with it, causing me to drop the glass I was holding due to being distracted.

Did she mean to bother you? I know that my mom always fiddles with my clothes as well...
But she should have been more aware of your discomfort, even if she didn't mean to bother you, she still did.
They mock everything sacred. They have no conviction, no belief in anything worth respecting or revering. To them the entire world is a farce to be laughed at. That is not the way to compassion and understanding. They made a play that trashes everything my religion stands for and had the gall to say it was pro-religion because it portrayed a message of "well, mormons are stupid and wiggy and wierd as all get-out, but aren't they happy in a quaint way" after profaning everything sacred and completely Other-izing both my people and black people. They are makers of filth and degradation, provocateurs inflaming hatred and inciting violence. Also, "kick a ginger day".

I'm not even going to fucking argue with you. I'm fucking tired, I'm fucking pissed off, and you wouldn't listen to my fucking arguments and just go "blahblahblah I'm not listening because my opinions are so much better than yours!!1!"

I feel bad for Spider-Man.
His story is basically about learning maturity, but almost no one handles him properly because he happens to be stuck in a medium where almost everyone shies away from true maturity.
Other Big Two characters suffer from that mentality, of course, but he seems to have suffered more than most from it.

That's the whole fucking point.
it's a lame point
and they don't even make it well, they're boring and half-assed and abjectly non funny, they aren't even really offensive unless you are like Aliroz-tier sensitive (not to denigrate al in any way, it is OK to be sensitive, it just doesn't reflect well on people trying to be offensive if they can only offend very sensitive people)

Please tell me they did.
And Grandma has fucked things up.
however, trashing someone's drone isn't the nanoha way either. the nanoha way would be to capture it and use it for intel and as negotiation leverage.

like i'm sure they're funny sometimes, but the whole edgy-for-edginess' sake does nothing for me
although it was a long time before i watched the show, on account of being, well, very sensitive
