If you'd rather talk about it in a members only thread, or by PM, would that help?
Like literally if you don't want me to respond, if you'd sooner just scream into my inbox for a bit, that's completely fine so long as you let me know that's what you're doing. If it'll help go for it.
I just want it to be quiet and not have to think of it
but it will come soon
and i can't do anything
I've recently gone through a lot of things I expected to be painful.
But even just thinking about it and putting it into perspective helped. Simply mentally preparing myself for something, rather than fretting over how painful it'd be, helped.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Minutes later, a car full of four men that he didn’t recognize rolled up, "looking for a fight."
"Are you the son of a bitch that shot my drone?" one said, according to Merideth.
His terse reply to the men, while wearing a 10mm Glock holstered on his hip: "If you cross that sidewalk onto my property, there’s going to be another shooting."
These are the kind of people who should not be allowed to own guns.

I'm kind of surprised you're not on his side in this case.

Like, I am ashamed to live in a country where threatening to shoot people for coming onto your property, even when they pose absolutely no threat to your safety, is considered acceptable.

In Windows 10, it's... different. Windows creates a per-user database containing all the entries that are in Start, both the live tile portion and the All apps portion. This database is (inexplicably) maintained by a system service running as the super-privileged SYSTEM identity. And at the time of writing, this database has the oh-so convenient feature of being limited to around 500 entries.
512. It's 512 entries.
You don't need to round down 512 because it is already a nice, round number. Powers of 2 are always pure.

Oh, I'm ok with him shooting down the drone.
Less ok with him threatening to shoot the drone's owner.

but his freedom, which is more important than their safety
if they really were "looking for a fight" and called him a "son of a bitch" then he had a very good reason for not wanting them on his property, and the right to defend it
IF they were looking for a fight, obviously that's Merideth's side of the story

i mean hypothetically, i'm not saying you necessarily should take his story at face value, but in theory his life could have been in danger from the men in the car.

It was slow and not much fun, and i felt it lacked the originality of the other Mario titles; they made tons of them and they all played basically the same i think?

What about his freedom to not be attacked in his own home?
Who says they were going to attack him?
He does, in that same article.
Again i'm not saying we should just take his remarks at face value.
*shrug*
I guess I'm just not convinced that someone being angry that you destroyed their $1000 equipment is a good enough reason to threaten them with physical harm :\
Since I am an old cow I can remember when Jurassic Park came out. First time I saw an actual "line stretching down the block" kind of line at the theater.
Yeah i'm just speaking hypothetically i suppose. i feel like it's valid to defend yourself by whatever means are available if your life is in danger, but it probably wasn't.
But then i also feel like destroying $1000 worth of equipment is a huge overreaction to a camera on your property. In general i think trashing other people's stuff is mean, and $1000 is a lot of money.

I don't know, if people were invading my property with drones and then coming onto me like that, I'd be pretty angry and insulted. I wouldn't threaten them with my gun because I lack a gun, but I find it hard to fault him.
Besides, it's his supposed freedom to value freedom over security, no?
Dr. Ian Malcolm: No, hold on. This isn't some species that was obliterated by deforestation, or the building of a dam. Dinosaurs had their shot, and nature selected them for extinction.
John Hammond: I simply don't understand this Luddite attitude, especially from a scientist. I mean, how can we stand in the light of discovery, and not act?
Dr. Ian Malcolm: What's so great about discovery? It's a violent, penetrative act that scars what it explores. What you call discovery, I call the rape of the natural world.
Dr. Byron J. Thinkpiece from the audience: Hmm, I am certainly having my intellect tickled by this film.
In general i feel like if you're going to mess with somebody else's stuff, especially in a destructive way or a way which you know goes against their wishes, then you'd better have a very, very good reason or you're just an asshole.
But no amount of property damage justifies assault, and i guess to me it sounds as though the guys in the car were behaving threateningly, at least according to his account. And self-defence *is* a valid reason to use a weapon.
Jurassic Park is considered sacred universal (no pun intended) cinema now isn't it
Pretty much.
You can usually tell if Cracked has the movie appear in an article without explaining what the movie is.
utter reverence towards any piece of pop culture tends to rankle me, and it doesn't help that I've been putting off watching the original Jurassic Park for years

real talk tho that is such a fire comeback that he should be given like 3 extra guns
I'd buy that they were being far from polite, though, avoiding that would have been incredibly simple by simply not flying the drone over there, to me. I wouldn't have shot down the drone, but I don't blame him because I consider that stuff pretty invasive. The threatening I'm less cool with, even knowing that.

Drone hobbyism is only going to cause more issues like this until people start passing laws.
I think it can be reasonably argued that a remote-controlled camera invading someone's property is effectively the same as the owner of that remote-controlled camera invading someone's property, and I don't really understand why it's not already illegal to do that.

i could be wrong, i didn't play all of them.
