    I like the expanded Start Menu which seems like it could be keyboard-navigable, which could replace my need for a Quick Launch section (which isn't keyboard-navigable).

    However, I'd like to be able to include apps of my own choosing, rather than simply "most used".  I'd like to be able to order them so I know where they are keystroke-wise.

    And how does "life at a glance" work?  Is there a way I could use it for something other than what looks to be a PDA-like functionality?  For example could I fill that with other shortcuts?  Or recent documents?  etc.

    "Life at a glance" is just one of the default Start menu categories. You can put whatever icons you want there.
