I remember being obsessed with SuperAmerica at one point in the late 1980s, since we were in that part of WV/KY a lot. There was one not far from my paternal grandparents' house, and one right smack in the middle of Louisa, KY (near where my granny lived at the time). I'm pretty sure they're both either Speedway or Marathon now.
i haven't listened to more of ryo/supercell/egoist's music so i can't say whether i like that composer, despite one of his songs being an all-time favorite
