If it helps, I can understand being annoyed at that.
I suppose it helps in my case that I don't have much of an emotional attachment to superheroes, and so can avoid the shitty media that features them without any regret.
So do I.
Tumblr does not know that people are allowed to do this.
Tumblr doesn't know that people are allowed to do a lot of things.
Before we move on, I would like to say that the "Property of the Joker" jacket that Suicide Squad!Harley Quinn is wearing is way too on-the-nose for me.
I don't understand why they're still so super-invested in being marketing vectors for superhero movies, when they hate everything DC does, and are angry at Marvel's point blank refusal to put queer people in their movies.
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
Hulk said that fandoms love things not because of what it is, but what they can as fans add to it. I think there's a lot of truth in that.
So that's my answer as to why they're invested, why they keep buying those tickets. Because they seek out media that lack something, so they can fill the void they perceive.
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
That's exactly it, it's an obsession.
I love superhero comics, but I'll be damned if I read every one. I'll probably never ever read the critically-acclaimed Killing Joke out of spite and contempt for standards of perceived quality.
Yeah, I would think. Certainly haven't heard any term specifically for concrete.
Wait, really? In that case you are using it the UK way, i think.
i wasn't aware anyone in the US used it that way.
It's mainly used on a pedestrian context, though. For people driving we either say "road" or "sidewalk" and pavement could be used for either but would mainly be used for people who are walking. Wouldn't sound unusual either way though.
Yeah that's a new sense, to me, but it's definitely not the same as the UK sense. Over here the road is the road and the pavement is the pavement, you would never call the road the pavement or you'd confuse everyone. It's the pavement *because* it's not the road, it's the bit you walk on. "Sidewalk" might be understood but if so it would be recognized as a foreign expression.
Heathrow Gatwick "london" Luton (lol) Charles de Gaulle newark JFK Berlin schönefeld Berlin tegel heraklion Athens the airport in Washington DC idk what its called O'Hare tiny shitty airport, fort wayne Denver
i dont remember the dunkin donuts shop at newark but i was only 8 so it may not have even been there

We have put men on the moon, but we have not developed a cure for feeling like you have a cold or maybe it's just allergies, who knows, also some heartburn.
wtf science
I am going to complain to Richard Dawkins. Science clearly does NOT work.
I like past me's sense of humor, probably because he is me.
Sometimes i'll stumble across something past me said and i don't remember saying it and i'll think, man i'd have been really intimidated by this clever person.

Otherwise, I do agree with your frustration.
either that or it's an obsession
it's a collective subcultural experience, which i never took much interest in
That would certainly explain Star Wars, too.

Also, congrats on passing your test!
