im surprised they didnt include riichard "The Hamster" "i crashed a drag race car and nearly died lol" Hammond in that, he could definitely pass for a geography teacher and the other two are already there ...

They had to include one person who had never been on Top Gear
Sam Harris is a man who writes a book called The Moral Landscape: How Science Can Determine Human Values and then defines "science" in a footnote as "giving reasons for things".
In other news, let me tell you about my new book How Water Can Cure Cancer in which I define "water" as "anything that will help with cancer treatment"

I suppose it is true that in the long run everything is made out of the same sort of stuff. And I dare say water is as good a name for it as any other. But why make such a song about it? It is the differences between things that are interesting.
from sredni @odradek and sunn: "Do tell Sunn and Odra that William Sansom and Hagiwara Sakutaro are very much worth checking out, and that in general The Weird is a delectable anthology even if the absences of Steve Rasnic Tem, John Hawkes, Elizabeth Bowen and Joel Lane are criminal."

As long as you're relaying things from him, can you ask him about his thoughts on Jenny Death, if he's listened to it?
I listened to that album recently, and I am quite curious what he thinks about it.
I honestly felt the same as you until I listened to "On GP" and fell in love hard with that track. It made me want to seek out the album.
Just go and listen to it yourself. If that doesn't convince you to give the album a fair listen, I have even less of an idea of your taste than I thought I did.
i hadnt checked out the album due to apathy, but I actually actively dislike this, which is not what I was expecting at all.
it's a poorly structured mess. the guitar riff doesnt go anywhere, and it's not even a good riff. MC Ride is rapping over what sounds like something Deafheaven left on the cutting room floor for being deficient in terms of songwriting, which is already not Deafheaven's strong suit.

???????????
i think my problem is that all the textures of the song indicate a rock structure, but it's structured mostly like a hip-hop song? so you expect the music to develop in a way it doesn't, and MC Ride ends up competing with the guitar for mental space.
It's the exact problem nu-metal killed itself with
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
I might as well try to elaborate on why I like the song, at least, if only to sort out my own thoughts on the matter.
I’ve always appreciated the sort of noise rock Zach Hill can produce when he’s working with like-minded people. That is generally not the sort of environment Death Grips operates in, of course. I think I was just happy to see him forcing it into that environment, so to speak.
I also liked that the song had a bit of a structure that style of noise-rock can admittedly lack at times. Honestly though, I think the organ may have provided that structure more than any other instrument. I really like the organ tone on that song, and I think it helped tie everything together for me.
I will also say that the band only appears on a couple tracks on the album, so if you really dislike that sound, you may still like at least some of it.

also idont think i remember a single thing about jenny death, aside from i remember thinking it was alright w/o rly changing my opinion of death grips, which is that i dont really rate anything theyve done better than 'okay' and i dont get the entire internet's weird fascination with them
I used to have a bit of a general dislike of them but eventually I came to really like Exmilitary after sredni urged me to give it another go, and I loved Govt Plates
So I obviously woke up on the wrong side of the bed because the area around my right shoulder hurts like something that is painful. No but really, ow. I can move just fine (with pain) so I'm thinking I just slept in a bad position like a dummy. Bleh.
I also want to kill my computer until it's dead, randomly freaking shutting off on its own. Maybe it's overheating, I don't know, but my family always has plans so I probably wouldn't get something to stop overheating until like a week later anyhow.

(emphasis must be on the final syllable of the word)
I hope he does soon!

I'm not upset that you don't like it. I'm just bewildered that this keeps happening.
The specific events I am referring to are when I like something and I think “Naney” in my mind and it turns out you passively or actively dislike it.
It’s not your fault, and I am not offended. I am just highly confused that it keeps happening like that.
I apologize for not being clearer with my last post.
