That's an interesting way to make potatoes. I should try it.
Also, the way the guy says things like "good eatin'" and "that's gud" is rather charming.
That looks really good. I'll have to try that too. Also, that video was super relaxing to me to watch for some reason. I'll have to remember that channel.
i can 100% picture myself arriving at an opinion like that, if i had a math and physics education and had not taken any classes on Freudian or poststructuralist theory
i think that would very very likely be my opinion, i recognize the author's voice and it resonates with me
For goodness' sake Odradek. You are obsessed with this math nerd thing and it doesn't make sense anymore. Being confused when Lacan says the imaginary unit represents the erectile organ does not make one a covert nazi, or a nazi-in-the-making.
Honestly wrt "people who want to kill you" i feel like what they're saying there is far more hostile towards critical/lit theory than it is to philosophy anyway
Sokal was attacking a particular kind of French intellectual, not the entire span of Hume, Ryle, Voltaire, Kant, Austin, Strawson, etc. etc. through the centuries
So if anything they want to kill me, though i didn't see a 'and these people must die for their wrongness' in that review

No they want all challengers to their omnipotence to die a horrid death.
People have done "free verse" rap before (including some very talented rhymers like Doseone and Black Thought) but it's not very interesting, at least I don't think it is.
For me, playing within the craft's constraints is like 90% of the fun of rapping, anything else is incidental, which is why I don't find much value in artists like say, Drake.
I complain about people shitting on me, and you all tell me I deserve it, and then I complain about deserving it, and you all tell me it's not happening.

Man, fuck that shit I'll be out spending all this money While you're sitting round wondering Why it wasn't you who came up from nothing, Made it from the bottom Now when you see me I'm stunning, And all of my cars start with a push of a button Telling me the chances I blew up Or whatever you call it, Switch the number to my phone So you never could call it, Don't need my name on my shirt, You can tell it I'm ballin. Swish, what a shame could have got picked Had a really good game but you missed your last shot So you talk about who you see at the top Or what you could have saw but sad to say it's over for. Phantom pulled up valet open doors Wiz like go away, got what you was looking for Now it's me who they want, so you can go and take That little piece of shit with you.
"rotterdam", "wrongheadedness" and "gotterdammerung" all seem like rhythmically interesting words
that is what Eminem does and it is both his greatest strength as an MC and the reason that so much of his music is horrifically boring.
If you were really good you could make them rhyme in an interesting way I'm sure but what I was getting at with that jab is that Eminem tends to inflect everything in the same nondescript shout. Sometimes it works (see his verse on "Speedom" by Tech N9ne) but usually it just ruins whatever beat he's on.

but Odradek i think this is important and the crux of the issue to me
some people have a very boring mechanistic way of thinking and are ignorant about shit that's meaningful to you and are convinced they know it all so they don't bother to expand their horizons
they are not accustomed to thinking in metaphysical, epistemological or self-reflexive terms, or attempting to understand people with wildly different backgrounds
they may have difficulties with their empathy in any case
they might be very sad, very boring people, and with the wrong influences they could fall into prejudiced modes of thinking

Sorry.

Disagreeing with this point does not make one a bad human being.

i don't actually think they're doing that
i think that would imply a level of self-awareness that these people do not generally have
