My own interest in Pokémon is a little curious for me to think about. So, let's see.
When I was a lot younger I was given Crystal. Or maybe Red/Blue and I lost it, since I was into the anime as a young child. Anyway for some good years I was thoroughly obsessed with the video games, manga, anime, and all the nitty-gritty in them from cheats to glitches to shout outs in the anime and so forth. This continued well into RSE. Except for standouts which didn't interest me, like Stadium, Snap, Pinball, and others I did not have access to. Still, aside from the anime, competitive play consistently kept me interested.
For a time, either before DP came out or sometime after the hype had settled, I went through my "too cool for this" phase. Although really it was a combination of school grabbing my attention, some burnout, and standard silly teenage ideas about toys (standard to me anyway). This only lasted for so long before I was into DPPt and whatnot. This continued with PBR, HGSS, and has continued through ORAS. By the time of RSE I was pretty much purely interested in the games, whether it be hacks, cheats, speedruns, or competitive play, and was/am actively disinterested in the movies and series.
Nowadays I think my interests have more or less settled, with it. Competitive play is cool, and strats are interesting, but I can't bring myself to get interested in the timesink again. Like, the fact that it's a timesink itself, with (in my experience) a tiresome culture is enough of a knock against it for me. Amusingly I'm now - for lack of a better phrasing - Pure Casual Scum, a phrasing which is definitely somewhat tongue-in-cheek. Slowly enjoying the games, fine just reading about glitches and whatnot, enjoying fan art. Which is fine by me, I just find the overall contrast funny.
That all said I rarely look into this stuff as of late, so take that as you will.

I saw a variable message sign the other day that gave a date as "6\28\15"
After however many years, people STILL haven't figured out that forward slashes and backslashes aren't interchangeable

Someone needs to make an AMV of Star Butterfly set to "Shining Star" by Earth, Wind & Fire

I use my block list much like people used killfiles on Usenet; even if they're not targeting me, I still don't want to hear from them in conversations (since they pop up in the damndest of places). And I do report the nastier ones.

(I don't ship Starco either, something about it just seems forced; same sort of deal with shipping Mordecai and Rigby.)
