Anyway, I'm typing up a dream in my (other) journal that is really really neat to me, to the point of actually being excited this early in the morning.
video games can look very pretty and they can play well but for some reason not a single person in the video game industry can write dialogue in an enjoyable engaging or believable way
it's like going to the louvre and someone has attached rotten potatoes to every piece of art via nail gun, only less cool than that analogy would make it sound
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022

Let me take you to my magical world of not giving a fuck about dialogue writing.
Also Fallout 3's writing is not really noticeably poorer than Fallout: New Vegas's.
i have stood knee deep in mud and bone and filled my lungs with mustard gas. i have seen two brothers fall. i have lain with holy wars and copulated with the autumnal fallout. i have dug trenches for the refugees. i have murdered dissidents where the ground never thaws and starved the masses into faith. a child's shadow burnt into the brickwork. a house of skulls in the jungle. the innocent, the innocent, Mandus, trod and bled and gassed and starved and beaten and murdered and enslaved! this is your coming century! they will eat them, Mandus, they will make pigs of you all, and they will bury their snouts into your ribs, and they will eat your hearts

People didn't like that game, because they are boring.

i think the problem was that it wasn't the dark descent
if it had been a standalone game i think the reception would have been more positive
honestly i found it more disturbing, because where the dark descent forces you to look away, a machine for pigs basically rubs your nose in all the nastiness

That's why I enjoy games like Touhou, where the dialogue is short, silly, endearing, and can be skipped.

i would kind of like to reply to Yarrun and Kex but i need a moment to like gather my thoughts on this
or maybe i shouldn't? i see we've moved on
I personally would prefer not to resume the discourse, but I have an aversion to discourse as a whole, so.
what a lovely and superb way to wake up!!!!
why are video games so bad
Paralyze my infancy
Petrify the empty cradle
Bring hope to them and me
