Yeah, it's like they didn't make any attempt to remove the old shield, they just painted over it and when that faded you could see what was underneath.

It doesn't help that the actual avatar the software generates is 50x50, but then it's displayed at 40x40.

I don't know, I seem to recall discussing the same 40px-vs-50px discrepancy back in the early days of IJBM2.
Also this forum software still looks like a disembodied comments section to me.

Wouldn't you have to come up with a way to let anonymous users comment?
...Or wait, no, maybe if people actually have to create an account, the people who say the stupidest stuff wouldn't be arsed.

I'm reminded of Mother saying that KUSA's comments sections, no matter what the story was about, would invariably have at least one comment to do with immigration.
Also, I've been thinking about lengthening my name over here to the TVT name I use the most, except as CamelCase because I don't think Vanilla lets me add spaces.

I see you caught the hidden "anonymous user" then.
Go ahead, if you want to. And yeah, no spaces, or else I'd be "Central Avenue" and not "CentralAvenue".

I'll be honest: I don't really have a preference for one over the other.

I still say the Cow and Chicken one is a good idea
Unrelatedly I think I'm becoming obsessed with Penn & Teller again

I don't really ever watch Boomerang, except when my sister wants me to watch Pokemon with her.
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Boomerang is weird. The graphics have gone mostly untouched since they launched (which was in 2000) and the on-air presentation used to be tight and well-organized, but over the years it's fallen apart and they've made no attempt to remedy this. It's like it's some shoestring-budget operation now.

I imagine they treat it as little more than a place to shove the stuff they don't show on Cartoon Network anymore.

It's weird, 2007 still feels like "not that long ago", but then I look at just how much time has passed and...it's almost half a decade ago.

It does.
The main thing that stands out about 2007 in my mind was my family's one-weekend trip to Parkersburg.
I was interested in roads at the time, but not enough to take pictures of signs on the way there or the way back. (Partly because I didn't have my own digital camera yet)

It was also the year I became obsessed with nostalgia and the 1990s, and spent all day long building a playlist of '90s pop songs on Imeem in between doing schoolwork.
(I still have a playlist on Grooveshark loosely based on that one, reassembled from a copy I found in Google's cache after Imeem shut down. I'm that obsessive)

Huh. I've never been as neat and tidy as I'd like to be.
Though if I were, I would be a total neat freak, so maybe that's for the better.

You know I've always felt strange about my desire to run a media conglomerate. Even more so now, that everything seems to be "converging" and big media megaliths are all about controlling everything everywhere

It feels like something that doesn't accomplish anything. Being interested in "synergy" and such.
Also, it feels weird that I'm half-serious about the ABC Inc stuff. The purchase that formed the company was supposedly a $20 billion deal, and for some reason "acquisitions" that would be worth far less money are almost never gone through with

What I find interesting about the ABC roleplay is that it evolved from pure silliness/shitposting to, as you put it, "half-serious".
Also you haven't done one of your silly news articles/press releases in a while.
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
And it started because I was in a bad mood at the time, too.
You know the company would probably not even exist in the first place, given that Disney would basically get rid of an enormous chunk of what makes them such a media empire in the first place (but not a commercial empire; those theme parks and intellectual properties aren't leaving the fold)

I remember when I saw you doing it and decided that pretending to run a business looked like fun. So I made up CA Marketplace without any attempt at trying to hide the fact that I was copying you.

Ok, here's the easy way to decide:
I have a deck of cards here. We'll say that ♠ means SPE, ♥ means Lionsgate, ♣ means Summit, and ♦ means...well, we'll figure that out if I draw a diamond.
Now I shall shuffle the cards and choose one at random. Whichever one I pick, you buy.

And it's...the two of hearts! Congratulations AU, you're buying Lionsgate!

MGM/UA is more or less out of consideration. They have the world's largest film library or something, but their financial condition is far too sorry for my liking.

...Why did I actually do that, anyway? It would've been just as easy to simply name a random card from the deck.

I just do a normal sort of riffle. I'm not especially skilled at it or anything, but it gets the cards in random order so it works well enough for me.

Lackadaisy was one, but I finished that quickly.
Unrelatedly I think I'm becoming obsessed with Penn & Teller again
Also Boomerang is apparently insane again, as they went from the first trifecta to the second season.
C&C debuted on there, on 4/1/2007 (this date made me suspicious when I first read about it), as a mini-marathon with no promotion

I probably won't use it much, if at all.

Oh well, at least I found my deck of cards.
Also, how do you shuffle cards?
