Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
Well, specifically, I don't want to believe in Jesus Christ. I don't want Christianity to have any meaning in my life. So I should stop using his name as a profanity.
But I don't know what else flows. I don't know what else has that rhythm, that weight.

"Work Bitch" has no right to be as much of an earworm as it is
Guess I'm just a sucker for Axwell and Ingrosso, because Brit's made better stuff than it before; I will say, though, that hook (or lack thereof) is pretty infectious, if only because it kind of gets drilled into your head by the time the song's through

I know Princess Alice drives the Centralian equivalent of a Lincoln Town Car but I don't know what Princess Anonus drives...

dreams where i drive are pretty terrible because the car always controls incredibly slowly and eventually i give up and have to pull over to the side of the road before I accidentally kill someone

I occasionally have dreams where my brakes don't work. Those are no fun, though usually I wake up after rear-ending someone.

Sredni! It's been some time. How are things in ferret-god land?
I am a very sorry excuse for a messiah if that is the case, but I guess being the manifestation of a personal god rather than a universal one will do that.

I do, too. Not the least because, aside from not being here, I am also cut off from communicating with several other friends and acquaintances, some of whom I am working on music and the like with...

Hello, Panurge.
Speaking of: I read a book on late 19th century German Philosophy, and there was a lengthy description of the now forgotten Pessimism controversy. In Germany, the followers of Schopenhauer got into a scuffle with the romantics and Neo-Kantians on the value of life. It was interesting how quickly the pessimist side threw out antinatalist arguments I'd always thought were weak and improved the ones I found more convincing. It was like reading antinatalist debates again, but a thousand times easier to take seriously.
What I'm saying is that I think this proves that Marx quote about things happening first as tragedy, then as farce.

I am not surprised, actually. I had long been tangentially aware of the pessimists' short-lived but intriguing period of import in German philosophy, but I was unaware of that particular kerfuffle. In retrospect, there had to have been one, and I am sure that the likes of Schopenhauer could have come up with better arguments than the modern pack of fools, but it is sad how few of those arguments were preserved at all. Maybe strong arguments for distressing things are too unpalatable for most historians of philosophy? I cannot say.
Well, that obscenity has always really, really bothered me...
But then again, I'm on the internet, where you're not supposed to care what anybody thinks, and being emotionally affected by things makes you a loser.
Disregard that. I care about things, and I have feelings, and things bother me and things make me enthused and things matter.
I might not be cool, and yes, I am MAD, my brother, but at least I'm a person.
