You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Anonus brought a boatload of cartoons for us to watch
You know, spending this time away from the internet has reminded me how undeniably irritating the Internet is and how unimportant it is in life without it.
I don't want to go back.
Except I like people here. And some of them like me.
Tumblr is just like Tvtropes, It's got corners of places where things are bad (OTC) and places where the people are decent (Yack Fest) It's mostly a site that you decide what you want to make out of it, so I've only made it good for me and it always confuses me when people "Oh man tumblr killed puppies"
Sure, I only used it so I could play Cartoon Network games, but I sure as frig used it.
As for Tumblr, I don't want to go through the work of curating my feed in a way such that I don't get upset. Partially because I'm too laid-back for that, partially because, well, some of the things that get me upset are Important. So I quit, and now I get my Important upsetting things here! Everybody wins!
I am up at 5am, because my parents decided that 6am is the perfect time to collect me from my Halls. Sure, the were dropping off my brother at the airport about an hour and a half away, but still.
what's actually going on here is that the magnets in the wheel are producing an eddy current in the copper, heating it via Ohm's Law. Then again, "there's no wires or flames so it must be free yay!"
At age 14, I had a vision where I glimpsed what I perceived to be the Universe’s fundamental energy pattern. I spent the next 35 years trying to figure out the details and implications of what I had seen. That quest took two paths: a scientific journey and an exploration of the human potential to navigate successfully through the challenges threatening our survival.
Life without internet probably would've led to a more ignorant, more depressed and self-loathing Counterclock.
I know it's silly to say "The internet opened my eyes" But in truth, it kind of did, It allowed me to experience other people's thoughts and emotions.
Honestly, without the internet, I probably would have grown up to be a crazy, racist conservative. My grandparents who raised me were REALLY racist, since they were from the deep south. My town was really conservative and redneck, too. The kind of people who swear by Fox News and actually deride you if you try to use anywhere else as a source.
The Internet basically made me a not terrible person.
AU: Copypasta from some New Age site's about page. Turns out they also seem to be vaguely conspira-tarian, too, if their Twitter feed is any indication. Alex Jones is not a reliable source. :P
