Not vegetarian myself but my parents were when I was a small child (& thus I was, not by choice) and we never ate that much meat. I really don't get that "it's not dinner unless it has meat" thing that a lot of Americans seem to have. It's just an option, not a necessity.

I hate that I always end up talking about the same stupid thing! I said one time "I don't want my life to be about being trans" but that is exactly what has been happening, more and more. I'm so jealous of those people who never really need to think about it anymore.
I guess there is also Touhou, the only thing that has been distracting me, and the only *other* thing I talk about, that everyone around me is probably very tired of! I assure you, poor listeners, that (so long as I don't die before reaching the aformentioned state of being) one day I will be talking about Touhou exclusively.

I do. I would play more, if I could get arcade emulation working well, or if I had all my Xbox stuff over here. I'm a good enough player to handle it at this point but it would take a lot of effort to beat one of those games. Like, a lot. More than most games take, many times over.

Also I was kind of joking. I try to have more diverse interests. I do have more diverse interests. It's just, Touhou took over my life, kind of, and I've used it as my escapism of choice.
Seihou is pretty cool!! ^_^ Maybe I'm not "hardcore" about it, and it didn't last very long, but I certainly like it! Even moreso, I like the RebRank games, which I guess are an offshoot of an offshoot of Touhou. :v (Touhou -> Seihou -> RebRank)

I have never actually played them but my understanding was that they were not particularly well made.

My interest in shmups it's limited. It's basically just like, Gradius and its spinoffs, and Touhou. Darius is pretty to look at but I have no real interest in playing it.

Hellsinker is awesome and it's one of my favorite shmups ever. The ∀kashicverse series is frequently compared to it, since it takes a lot of inspiration from Hellsinker, but tries to be even more fast, extreme, over-the-top, and convoluted, as if such a thing were possible.
If you need shmup recommendations in general, I have tons of them. :3

well the thing is that a lot of shmups expect you to have good reflexes and I.....do not.
I'm sure it's at least partly a matter of practice but then the question is if I want to practice that much and tbh I don't think I do.
Most of the shmups I like I like for their aesthetic. The fact that the Touhou games are actually like, good, is more a nice bonus than anything to me.
Touhou always looks to me like the world's most elaborate fireworks display in which you have to avoid being hit by any of the pretty stars because they burn.
From watching others play, that is. I have no idea what playing it is like. My reactions suck.

one of the reasons I like Touhou is that it usually doesn't demand very quick reaction times. It's more about learning boss patterns and such.
