Because this space, to some degree, is considered to be a space that collectively belongs to the forumgoers, who are understood through social convention to be able to have a degree of informal control over what's going on.
come to think of it, maybe I'm just used to never having some web space that really "belongs" to me
in other words, if I don't like what other people are talking about, the correct thing to do first is always to walk away and pretend it didn't happen
(making another thread is, heck, a luxury)
and if I'm going to dive into the fray I had better come prepared and with my ass covered

Ok. [Name], just pretend you're tanking Titan. The only difference is that you'll want cooldowns up for Ravensbeak. The wall is exactly like the one during Twin, so, um, don't touch it. [Name], [Name], stand so that he's just within attack range, that'll prevent any problems with Lunar Dynamo on your end. Anyway, that should pretty much do it for phase 1 positioning, so I'll just list Nael's attacks in the order he uses them:
Stardust: A red/yellow marker will appear over someone's head. They need to either run to a spoke or in between two spokes, and then run the hell away when the marker disappears. If you're still there when the meteor lands, you die. Damage is based on how close you are at the time of impact. If two meteors land too close together, they'll explode, and we'll wipe. So, yeah, don't do that. Ideally we want 4 meteors. If we get a fifth, we might not make the enrage, and [Name] is gonna take 13k damage in the span of like, 2 seconds, which is gonna melt him.
Iron Chariot: Nael will target someone with a circle AoE. It hurts like hell and can knock you into the wall, so don't stand in it.
Thermionic Beam: Always happens immediately after a Chariot. Everyone except [Name] stack in the middle and wait until we explode.
Lunar Dynamo: Assuming our deeps is good enough, we should only see this once. Anyway, [Name] and [Name], stack on Nael's butt. Nobody else should be in the blast radius anyway, assuming positioning is all ok. If it hits, it heals Nael for the total damage done, which is gonna hurt big time in the long run.
Meteor Stream: 4 of us will be marked with a white marker. Stay away from everyone else, especially if they have a marker as well, otherwise you'll both take double damage. The second set of streams will be a double and is gonna really really sting if someone gets targeted twice. Shouldn't kill them, though. I hope.
And... that's pretty much it for Phase 1, actually. Oh, one other thing to note: [Name], [Name], stick [Name] on focus target. After Ravensbeak, he'll get a debuff that causes him to explode after 12 seconds, and will probably flat out kill you if you stand too close. But yeah, that's pretty much it.
I've honestly seen too many people, on such places as the Steam forums, who presume that software must work out of the box without flaws.
No, it doesn't.
Software just has bugs sometimes. Sometimes other software interferes with it. Sometimes it just doesn't work right with the hardware you have and you need to jump through a few more hoops to get it to work.
Just because you paid for it -- as opposed to it being (legal) freeware or pirated -- doesn't mean it is any more likely to work.
You may feel more entitled to it, but that feeling of entitlement has no real-life meaning (other than perhaps your getting angry and expressing that anger in physical or webspace ways).
It is software. It has bugs. Part of the nature of things. You don't complain about the fact that fruit can spoil, do you? Or that dirt is dirty?

If you paid for a piece of software, you have a reasonable expectation that it functions as advertised. Just like with any other product, really.
it would have had to have been a very incongruous post for this thread to seem like the 'wrong' thread
Well, there's the thing, it's not the wrong thread, it's, as I said, the wrong site. I mean, I guess technically that counts as the wrong thread too, but still.

Well it's "wrong" in the sense of "not intentioned", rather than "not appropriate".
Y'know, several years out from having watched it the first time, something I still admire about the character Nanoha Takamachi is her ability to keep her cool, through the most trying of circumstances.
The last time I've played with friends was months ago, it was with Miko.
Maybe that's how things are, talking once in a month. Checking on people. I love listening to people talk, but on a forum, it's not the same, maybe, chance are they don't even know that you are reading because you got absolutely nothing to say. I never got much to say...
God I hate being outside, where there is lots of people. I especially dislikes when they are loud and intrude my personal space. I wonder if I have a problem...
The problem is people tend to flock, even when they're vampire people that drain you.

it was a little baby forum and it grew and grew
it is special and precious
dear forum
feeling sick + anime hair selfie from yesterday
one could call me a member of this forum
but that designation is an artefact of the human mind associating the functionality I have access to and an implication of motive (however vague)
at the baseline, I am just a human with a computer that has an internet connection and a user account at this forum
just like everyone else here
baselines
at the end of the day, when we could lose everything, we count our baselines
the world does not care what we feel we are entitled to
it just operates according to some physical principles and the individual motives and expectations of various other people
holy shit
(i have not seen frozen)
(or maybe it is ratatouille?)
(i have not seen that either)
O

Ain't exactly comfortable with putting my raid group's names out there. :P
Your feeling of entitlement has NO PHYSICAL MEANING. It does not change the laws of physics. It does not change the code. It does not change ANYTHING.
So drop it already.
I hope that sticks this time.
(No it won't.)
Reasonable: software doesn't work, I post a troubleshooting thread, dev responds.
Unreasonable: software doesn't work, I immediately tell everyone else it was a piece of shit and they shouldn't buy it.
we're sort of right, but not in the way we think
the fact that they do anything at all is pretty miraculous, really
but that's because it takes a lot of effort and work to do anything with a computer
a computer and its components are no smarter or more magical than a rock
I would absolutely love to have that ability.
But as a person...I would love to be like that.
