I just tried to make an old-timey/posh version of the Navy SEAL copypasta, and I think it's beyond my wits at this hour. I'd have to shorten it considerably to even have it make sense.
What's Last Stand?: This is Last Stand Fight giant monsters in bug armor. Rip parts off giant monsters to get better bug armor. This is mainly a system for fightin' but we'll see where it goes.
What do I do?: Just tell me if you want to join up. I'd prefer that you have a headset/mic/webcam so we don't have to chat this out, but if someone really wants to join the game and doesn't have one, I can probably make arrangements or find something for you to do.
When is this happening?: Well since a bunch of Heapers are college students, I thought mid December would be a good time to start. It also lets me figure out exactly how I'm going to do stuff.
Should I buy the Last Stand pdf?: I honestly don't know. The monster list is in there, and I kind of want you guys to be surprised at what I throw at you. I might just send you some word documents with relevant rules.
Is this going to happen? I've been burned before.: It really depends on everyone's schedule, but I don't foresee problems on my end.
why do people like to use "feminine" and "manly" and similar gendered adjectives to describe various things that have nothing to do with gender
like
"feminine" often means "elegant" or "dainty" or "passive" etc. (which are gender-neutral and more specific terms they could use)
"manly" often means "crude" or "boisterous" or "brutish" or "intimidating" etc.
"boyish" often means "somewhat rude" or "somewhat forward" or "hands on" etc.
we could help get rid of these gender stereotypes by, y'know, actually using more specific words to say what we want to mean, and it has the added benefit of making our speech more specific
in case anyone is wondering what my previous post meant
Phil Puckett is a former Virginia State Senator. He was a Democratic member, during a time when the State Senate was tied 20-20 for party control with the Dem lieutenant governor (Ralph Northam) being the tiebreaker. Republicans offered him a job on the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission, and he was about to take it but he came under fire for the deal and declined. However, he resigned his State Senate seat anyway, which was won by special election by Republican Ben Chafin (since it is like R+18), so they now have a 21-19 majority. Even before Chafin won the seat, the empty seat meant Repubs had a 20-19 majority.
This, in turn, messed with Dem Gov. Tim Kaine's efforts to get Medicaid expanded in Virginia, and various other complications.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
For ten points: which of the following statements is NOT true?
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
We agreed that certain things are feminine, manly, and boyish. And while these descriptions are arbitrary, there's just no reason not to work with them.
The problem is not the language. The problem are the views of what being a man or being a woman means. The problem is that we're not allowed to be feminine boyish men or manly boyish women or anything in-between.
Crouching language in gender-neutral terms does nothing to help that.

Making people think about how their use of gender-related descriptors to refer to concepts that are gender neutral highlights that gender bias, and is thus a first step to their recognition that they're arbitrarily assigning traits to genders and they shouldn't.

JADEN: Something that’s worth buying to me is like Final Cut Pro or Logic.
