If my surname begins with Mc and my family identifies as Irish, does that mean we're Scotch-Irish?
Mc and Mac are both just variant spellings of the same Gaelic word. The identification is variable.
Scotch-Irish is fairly particular: They were Presbyterians and Puritans from the Scottish Lowlands and Northumbria who were basically sent to Northern Ireland during Cromwell's time to give the Protestants a foothold in Éire. A lot of them later emigrated to the New World with other Irish and Scottish folks, particularly Appalachia.
The ones that still live in the Ulster region, particularly Connacht, speak a very distinctive dialect of Scots that sounds like something out of the Middle Ages. It's weird. Some also spoke Lowland Gaelic, but that died out back in the nineteenth century.
Seriously though a goon compared Tokyo Ghoul unfavorably to Gate, which is a literal harem manga about Japanese nationalist supremacy that denies Nanking.
anime fans (and it is not just goons) tend to act like anything remotely action-y is only worthwhile as a gateway into the deep and cerebral world of insisting that My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute is actually A Pretty Good Show If You Ignore The Incest.
see what im getting out of this is that goons consistently have mediocre to poor taste and a severe lack of self-awareness
Yeah that.
Although you did say that once they got over completely misinterpreting its intentions in the first few episodes, the guys on ADTRW really liked The Tatami Galaxy. But I think you have to be a complete scrub not to like that show.

Yeah the last episode was really good.
Is this related to your other health problems?
I like Tokyo Ghoul better though.
He constantly has the worst opinions.
