Scientists at Florida State University randomly assigned 77 undergraduates to play either Lumosity or the popular video game Portal 2[..] After 8 hours of play, Portal 2 players scored higher than Lumosity players on three standard cognitive tests of problem-solving and spatial skill, and Lumosity players "showed no gains on any measure", the team reported online this summer in Computers & Education.
Jim Sterling and Moviebob are both really good. Yahtzee intermittently makes good points. He isn't self aware enough, but he's still a unique, valuable voice.
The former two rather deliberately make themselves, ah, accessible, but they're both very knowledgeable. Moviebob in particular has a tendency to be positive about somewhat disliked movies but really, really negative about some somewhat positively received ones.
I've found Sterling's middlegrounding to be rather tiring at times, but it strikes me as more of an attempt to reason with well-intentioned people who are on the fence and leaning on the wrong side than anything else. Moviebob's surface-level abrasiveness belies a very intelligent, thoughtful voice.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
idk what I said is honestly just one of those things I heard once from somebody and have repeated since because it sounds true to me. I should do that less.
