2014 isn't even over yet, but 2013 seems like it was years ago. Discuss.

for me 2012 and 2013 feel almost completely separate (2012 trailed off into 2013; the "official" start of the year for me is when I began college and Mother retired)

2014 just feels like 2013 without the progress to me >_>
  • i just feel tired :(

My memories of 2012 are split into two chunks: the first half of the year, marked by taking care of Mother after her ankle injury and eventually my PPG obsession, and the second half of the year, marked by a long depressive episode that lasted most of the fall.

My memories of 2013 are a weird mishmash of unpleasant memories (almost getting arrested at the fireworks), vividly pleasant memories (meeting up with Anonus for the first time), and a bizarre mix of confusion and anger (most of the fall).

2014 so far seems like an improvement over 2013 in almost every way, though.

At this point, I'm starting to understand nerd culture's frustration with copyright. If they're going to sit on it all, Warner Bros. should just release all the non-Scooby Hanna-Barbera stuff into the public domain, or donate it to someone who actually cares about it.
  • I really like Yellowman's "Ribbit" adlib.

    * The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC (i've played this a little)

    I love her already.

I am tempted to ask you to ask her for her thoughts on Ligotti. Which is to say that I am asking you to ask her for her thoughts on Ligotti. Which is actually completely relevant given the course and the material. I would specifically ask if she has ever read "The Spectral Estate" or "Notes on the Writing of Horror: A Story".

I am also pretty sure that she is familiar with Angela Carter, again given the course and the nature of Carter's oeuvre.

Which is all a roundabout way of saying "I want to be in that class, damnitall."
  • kill living beings
i thought contemporary gothic was about the european peoples for a second, are they in house of leaves
  • idk about her views on Ligotti (i will ask and say that the internet demands it) but she is certainly an enormous Angela Carter fangirl
  • tbh who isn't an enormous Angela Carter fangirl

idk im not that far into it but there have been digressions into all sorts of shit so far so it honestly wouldn't surprise me

Sever your leg, please. It's the greatest day.
  • Pick an NxN matrix and a 1xN matrix s.t. the solution to Ax=b would be a matrix consisting of hertz values forming a chord of your choice. Pick N random numbers and set each to a corresponding element in the x matrix. These are your estimation values. Set your synthesizer(s) to these values. Using the Jacobi iteration method (or the Seidel method, if you hate fun), find new estimates and gradually adjust your synthesizer(s) to the new values. Repeat this until the intended chord is played. Then continue with the next chord on the list until you are done with the list.

be sure that A is diagonally dominant, or this may go on forever

because it is used for other wikis

software written to support one other software and nothing else usually turns out to be ridiculously terrible

mediawiki isn't ridiculously terrible, though it's still kinda bad probably

Writing five-minute german script (dialogue between me and my partner) for midterm oral exam.

I have one practice with my partner (who is writing his own five-minute script. We do both scripts, for ten minutes of oral exam) in total. IT is tomorrow.

    Midterm oral exam is thursday.

So, I should have a long-enough and grammatically correct script by tomorrow. I have made a long enough script, a grammatically correct script, and a not-quite-long-enough-and-not-grammatically-correct script.

Also, for oral exam, no reading the script from a paper. Must have it memorized, all ten minutes.

I can understand that, I suppose

It's just that some things--like the search feature--don't seem especially geared towards the type of content that Wikipedia hosts

Weird coincidence: he says "don't go to pot" and then Sally writes "42-0" on the fishbowl

    animators be trippin' BALLS though

Hanna-Barbera brought weed to Hollywood with Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, and from there the entire animation industry became full of potheads I guess the moral is that potheads shouldn't make cartoons
