A lot of us are pretty ticked at the Republican party and are nothing like Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck but are still conservative without being bigoted jerks.
If it wasn't a strictly two-party system, the republican party would split between republicans and republicans.
I'm I am not a real republican, than neither are a whole bunch of republicans.
(Also, man, the "you don't do X bad thing so you aren't Y bad thing" thing?)
I am socially liberal and economically conservative. I believe gold should never be spent except to me, and that I should be allowed to fuck secretarybirds whenever I wish
You are pro-LGBT+ and think gender norms are dumb. You are universally religiously tolerant. You do not find the concept of universal healthcare inherently abhorrent. You are OK with medical marijuana despite hating weed culture. Despite your occasional failure to get jokes or be sensitive about things, you actually have a sense of humour about yourself.
You're a liberal, Al. A very affectedly old-fashioned one, but still, your most conservative traits are lexicographical.

Okay, yeah, most of that is true, but to clarify:
I'm not OK with medical marijuana, I'm willing to allow it because the alternative is allowing people to have seizures and other awful medical problems. Of course I'm not going to oppose medical marijuana.
How is universal religious tolerance a liberal trait? Or, for that matter, a conservative trait Or a moderate trait? Methinks it's an apolitical trait.
Also, my instinctive urge to follow authority and respect tradition is pretty republican.
But, yeah, I guess I'm pretty liberal for a republican, but, then again, a lot of these traits are shared by many republicans I know who I wish would form their own party.
Yeah, I'm kinda a pre-cold-war republican. Certainly not a Reagan Republican.

In the modern political climate, at least in the US, there has been a very nasty shift towards religious intolerance and bigotry on the right, as well as a refusal to compromise on anything that might weaken the reactionary plank.
If anything, yes, you strike me as being ideologically in line with certain liberal Republicans of the early twentieth century, but that position is really more a Democratic thing now. Bob Casey comes to mind.
My view on ghosts has always been " I don't believe they exist, but if any ghosts are real and happen to be listening to me say this, please don't feel any obligation to prove me wrong".
Pretty much the same, although the dead scare me less as hypothetical entities go than... less explicable things.
I can understand that. I'm not even sure of what it is about ghosts that scare me so much. I wouldn't mind being a ghost if I was dead, but something about them being around and occupying the same living space as me just creeps me out.
I like the Batman series, but Bruce Wayne is a libertarian manchild who doesn't give a shit about actually changing Gotham for the better or else thinks things will become better if he just keeps beating up hopelessly mentally ill people and the lower class.
The Scottish national party has a majority in parliament.
in the scottish assembly.
thats the reason the referendum is even happening
and polls are suggesting yes right now which is why the new royal baby has been announced and why everyone is panicking and offering scotland devolution up the ass to get people voting no again
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
i still worry this will negatively impact the already nearly-nonexistent chance i have of moving to scotland
