It's funny, because even though Playboy Playmate Erika Eleniak is a member of the cast, the writers hadn't realized they were writing a show about bouncing lifeguard mammaries and thought they were just writing a show about Lifeguards.
Thus more development for the male lifeguards who aren't David Hasselhoff, stuff about kids hanging around as junior lifeguards, and Garner the Beach Cop who is Getting Too Old For This Shit.
It kinda feels like a cop show with lifeguards, honestly.
honestly as far as premises for tv series I've heard, I've heard far worse than that one
i mean, i don't understand PYF mock threads, but the attitude isn't specific to them
like when i was on TVT it felt like they were normal people discovering just how dreadful the internet was and reacting to it like any sane people would
but the more i hear about them the more it seems like they just get a kick out of ruining the self esteem of people who never had much to start with

Beyond the Lampshade is the most unpleasant place I have ever had the displeasure of bein a part of. my understanding is that it's better than it used to be but not by a whole lot ya know
Well, it got better before it got worse before it got better before it got worse.
This was my experience too, though thankfully I had no investment in the site at any point, even just for seeing what a few others (like Centie, Sredni) were up to. And I left fairly early on too, thinking about it.

It's not that bad right now honestly.
David Hasselhoff is kind of likeable, some of the side characters like Garner and Trevor are fun, and it has some cool high-stakes ocean drama.

Funny thing happened at CD Exchange. I went up to the counter to ask them if they had any Daniel Amos CD's. Because, owing to DA's career trajectory, I don't know if any given store will stock their stuff under "pop/rock", "country", or "religious"—nor do I know if the store will file them under D or A. (They should be filed under D, just like Pink Floyd should be under P and Jethro Tull should be under J.) So rather than checking six different places, I just asked the guy at the counter. He said they didn't have any—in fact, none of the stores in the whole city had anything by DA. Unfortunate, but expected.
I started browsing. And found a copy of Daniel Amos' double album, Mr. Buechner's Dream. For the record, it was filed under "pop/rock — A".
