It gets weird when you see people who have spent over a hundred dollars getting banned, changing other people's avatars, and re-registering talking about how they can't stand all the nerds who have no lives.
regarding criticism... i care about it, but sometimes to even discuss something that's self-evidently crap is to afford it more legitimacy than it warrants

I mean when you passive-aggressively hammer people with how wrong they are via cited points and rhetoric and treat them like they're stupid. I don't think that you mean to do that, but it's this weird defence mechanism that you use sometimes that is really unflattering and a little upsetting.

Yeah pretty much.
They're at their best when they do try and end up doing crazy projects like Zoofights, or the better LPs, or dissecting every chapter of World of Synnibar.
But they seem to think that what they'll be known for and what makes the forums justified is people posting "nigga you gay" in regards to long posts on Dr. Who or telling people to kill themselves on the Emotional Problems subforum.

some people are so far in the ichorous muck of their own depression and self-hatred that the only way they know how to interact with others is to project that misery and self-hatred
I used to be angry at these people, now I just largely pity them, because their situation is sad, and I wish them better days, but by and large issues that run that deep are out of my ability to help repair

I used to sub to the "if you are hurt you lose" mentality, and I think that the easiest counteraction to it is to simply consider people who think that way what they are--unspeakably sad or unspeakably sociopathic--and treat them appropriately, either with disdain or pity.

By the end, there were less than ten regulars, three of whom I could no longer stand. Milos, DG, Bracer and Randalf are good guys, but I have a Facebook account, so that's basically completely moot.
It's funny, because even though Playboy Playmate Erika Eleniak is a member of the cast, the writers hadn't realized they were writing a show about bouncing lifeguard mammaries and thought they were just writing a show about Lifeguards.
Thus more development for the male lifeguards who aren't David Hasselhoff, stuff about kids hanging around as junior lifeguards, and Garner the Beach Cop who is Getting Too Old For This Shit.
