You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
...I'm not sure what you mean by that. What would even be left of Big Brother without the reality show aspect?
Like, remove the challenges, make it more focused on the kinds of things that happen day to day, I dunno really what I want but there's a really compelling concept there that sorta got smothered by all the stupid stuff.
My mother watches a lot of reality TV and it's annoying.
Yes, that one! I'm pretty sure Michael Karp did the music, because it sounds like two other things he did: Dateline NBC and Live. (The old 80s TV Theme SuperSite credited at least one of the PM Magazine themes to Gari, but they had a bad habit of crediting anything upbeat and horn-driven to Gari...)

I think part of the problem is that watching people just go about their everyday lives is...well, kinda boring.

I'm pretty sure that would end up with us in the middle of Lake Michigan

Did you guys ever have to learn the "HOMES" mnemonic for the Great Lakes in elementary school, or is that just something they teach in the Great Lakes region?
Smee, Maiman, Doktar, Pavelier, Button-Lee, Juan Ovyu
The ones I recognized when I first saw the picture were Ikki, Dragon's Lair, Transformers, Biowarrior Dan,Spelunker, Takeshi's Challenge, Journey to the West, Cheetahmen II, and Golgo 13

the only thing I have to say about hg101 is that for all they jack off old platformers, they better do a 200 word indie on Shovel Knight, and it better be glowing.
It's better for the entire world that you don't learn anything more about him. He's a nobody with a ridiculously inflated sense of his own worth, and weird opinions on videogames.
I have a very vague recollection of someone called Kierkegaard causing problems on TVT; maybe Tachyon or Morven would know better than I would.
There was a TVT thread where someone linked to his website and we all laughed at choice bits from it. Of all people, Chagen eloquently summed up exactly why icycalm was such a sad figure. Eventually the thread was shut down for excessive negativity. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all—so that's what we did.
indie isn't a genre or a developer so how can you hate them
He is a very afraid that production of indie games will make every game a crude parody of what he imagines an arthouse film to be and stop production of CAVE shooters.
That makes no sense. It's not like being developed by a large company means it's True Art; indeed, people dislike EA in large part because their games are typically so "meh".
It's kind of like saying they should cancel Sundance because Michael Bay will stop making Transformers movies otherwise.

"Mind you, this isn't always the case; Fallout: New Vegas had a slightly better story than Fallout 3, but 3's gameplay and graphics so clearly make it the better game to anyone with eyes, that it isn't even funny.
Look, while New Vegas and the first two games might have had a very, very slight edge in the story department, Bethesda's commitment to gameplay(see how the word game is in the word gameplay) first are what makes Fallout 3 so much of a better game than anything that Black Isle ever slapped together."

I was a pretty good troll back in the day.
