I like when Beatle Bailey comments on Don't Ask Don't Tell.

To be fair, al-Ghazali did wind up keeping the Sufis from being driven to extinction, and I do find Sufi mysticism fascinating; he also was quick to point out that those who deny scientific fact out of disdain for secularism are blind and foolish. But I prefer those that he criticised and those who criticised him. Their beliefs are less monotonously absolutist.

    That he is.

Albeit not literally. I would not smoke a great SF writer, save with my sick flow. Assuming I had one.

I swear that "(Antichrist Television Blues)" has an almost sadistically abrupt ending, although it is kind of perfect how it stops on a dime with that last line.

Tell me, Lord, am I the Antichrist?

    DEAD STOP.

  • This video is really frustrating to me because Arin Hansen clearly knows and understands a lot about game design and makes a ton of good points but because he spends the entire time screaming and for every good point he makes there are at least three points that are clearly more about personal preference than actual design flaws or him demonizing one game while lifting another to undeserved heights, so it makes it a difficult and irritating video to watch.
  • Like, I don't even have a problem with Egoraptor's shoutiness, but in this video it just came off as angry and smug and inflammatory and it was just uncomfortable to watch.
  • For once, or maybe twice, I was in my prime.

    Munch munch, chomp chomp...
If nothing else, Arin's gotten me more interested in Zelda, which I guess is kind of nice. It does bug me that one of the attractions for his Sequelitis videos, that being he's easy to listen to and doesn't drone on and on, is also one of the main weaknesses of his series (I feel). It could easily have been a 20 minute video that more effectively critiqued both games, but it also wouldn't be Sequelitis without Arin doing what he does in general.

^^ I disliked the shouting too, though I virtually always dislike that in the stuff I watch. Inflammatory I can buy since Arin's fairly combative and likes to drop personal thoughts throughout his stuff, but I'm not seeing the smugness. Struck me more as stubbornly uncompromising while not making any actual points (or at least, bothering to elaborate on them), where Skyward Sword  is concerned.

v As far as I understand him, that's his shtick. He's always wildly over the top, even if his actual opinions aren't generally as fiery. I get not liking it, though.

@Mo The Show: Again, fairly certain that's him being dramatic to make a point. How well he makes his point about Skyward Sword, that's a different subject.
  • Like, I cannot understate how uncomfortable that video made me, and not even just in my normal different-opinions-upset me way but like

the dude is just fucking wildly livid about this and it's not at all fun to watch.
  • people getting angry about media is the lamest thing in existence.

i'm not going to watch that video because i do not want to hear someone shouting about Zelda

especially since all the Zelda games i have played have been fantastic and i really can't be bothered to hear how much Skyward Sword supposedly inexplicably sucked yet again or whatever it is he's mad about
  • He's screaming and foaming at the mouth about Ocarina of Time for the majority of it.

Again, the two most frustrating aspects of this are that he really does seem like a cool guy and I like what he does a lot along with the fact that he really does raise a lot of good points but they're sandwiched between screaming and weirdly tunnel vision-y logic.

    The sadness will last forever.
@tachyon yeah but the problem is that some of them (one i know and i won't say who) are following me so i'm not sure what to do other than try to ignore stuff from them and they're everywhere on the internet
  • just unfollow them

like, i've unfollowed a good number of my friends here, it's no big deal
  • seriously, if someone gets bent out of shape over your unfollowing them just tell them to eat a bag of dicks
  • The sadness will last forever.
