I'm thinking about beefing up the content again.

    What?

    That ABC owns.

Suddenly I am obsessed with buying back catalog so we can do things with it.

(I could see how you'd think I was referring to something else.)

You should buy all my favorite childhood shows.

Start with Bill Nye the Science Guy.
  • I wonder why we keep focusing on what the future could bring.

We all want hovercrafts. We all want rocket boots. We all want matter replicators. We're all tired of how things are when we can imagine how things could be.

We never should have made such random speculating like what happened in the late 1900s, as a culture. It gave us such high expectations for the future that we can never be satisfied by what the future brings. We should have looked at what existed at the time and thought of how it could be reasonably applied. While the math nerds and the science nerds of the 60s and the 70s tinkered away at making the world a better place, the artsy kids doodled in their notebooks and wrote what made sense out of their LSD trips. Sometimes, yeah, they got one right. Still, if you randomly roll dice a million times, eventually you'll get boxcars. If you measure and weigh the dice, you'll get boxcars a lot sooner.

I'm trying my hardest to follow.

I think he's saying that instead of just saying "someday we might have flying cars!" we should look at the technology we have, and how we could realistically improve and expand upon it.

    If I read that right.

ABC Inc should buy NBC, CBS and FOX

Then they can combine into one huge, incestuous network

    Mmm...Incest...
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
But incest produces deformed babies if performed too often.

    Fine.

Instead you should just buy some old shows to run on The Hub.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
That's what I aim to do. But nobody has the channel and it is losing money or something.
  • You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
That's easy. You just have to threaten to kill everyone who doesn't subscribe to The Hub.
  • -does not subscribe to the hub- :O

Don't worry, AU doesn't seem to like violence as a business strategy and will most likely reject my brilliant plan to bring in more viewers.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
So they'll have to pay for The Hub.

Right. You either pay for The Hub, or Central Avenue will come up with new creative and exciting ways to murder you.

    Living tissue over endoskeleton.
"AU doesn't seem to like violence as a business strategy"

So all those months of living in the air vents of the ABC building and bumping off rival company heads were meaningless?!
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
    Wait, that happened?

So...just a little less than a month left till school starts for me.

    I'm cautiously excited.
  • Living tissue over endoskeleton.
If I remember correctly, you paid me twenty bucks to bother the heads of Comcastiversal and I ended up assassinating them all.

This thing is so...wrong. Everything is wrong. It doesn't make any sense.

    ^$50.

Let me tell you. About Fallen London.
Today I went to a birthday party. Someone put in a DVD, and one of the trailers that played was for "Hobo with a Shotgun". I couldn't resist saying "Not Pony with a Shotgun?"

I and the other brony present both immediately agreed it would be Pinkie.

    You Needed To Know This
  • You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Is it weird that my first thought was "I wish I knew a brony in real life"?
  • Well, the brony in question was Justice, so it's arguably more like "I knew a brony and it carried over to real life". (Though neither of us were bronies at the time we met, and actually I'm not sure brony was yet a thing, and I'm not sure why I'm so derpy tonight.)

We also made a drinking game of trying to explain plot points in Homestuck to Rottweiler. In between drinks, I had to remind Justice that he had explained virtually everything about Homestuck except what he was trying to talk about.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
You guys sound like you have fun.

If I ever decide to put this place in my sig there again I hope Justice signs up or something

    That would be cool.

Though I hardly ever see him on TVT anymore. I imagine he is busy with real-life stuff.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
    Work.

He is always bogged down with work.
  • You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Yeah, and pretty soon he'll have a baby to take care of.

Babies are very time-consuming, you know.

So this guy argues that cardinal directions are superfluous when the numbered route only goes in one direction.

I kinda see where he's coming from, but I'm not sure I agree. In my mind, if the route is signed without a cardinal direction, it implies that the numbered route continues in both directions, not only one.
  • You know what, I'm not in the Cart of Shipping Central Avenue and AU anymore.

It's weird, It's like I see their friendship as merely platonic now.

    You needed to know this.

Putting as much thought as I do into my imaginary corporate shenanigans is stupid.

    ^How did this come about?
  • I think it had to do with "This" Post
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
    that's a rather small trigger.
  • You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
    Don't question it, ok
  • AU and CA, you guys are the ones who can't see why people ship you in the first place.

For me, it was an indicator basis, the term Bestfriend holds a lot of meaningful connotations with me, on a personal level.

seeing that word in AU's post basically set me right by you guys.

People ship us because our relationship is very strangely close.

    Not that I'm supporting it.
  • You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Yeah, just 'cause we don't like the shipping doesn't mean we don't understand it.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
You sound kind of angry. I'm sorry.

    What? I'm not angry.

    ...I'm coming off as angry?
  • you guys, If you want, I'll admit to something, I'm a bit of a velociraptor.

I'd say "that explains a lot", but I'm not sure what it would explain.

(Yes, I use this joke all the time)
  • I think he's saying that instead of just saying "someday we might have flying cars!" we should look at the technology we have, and how we could realistically improve and expand upon it.
You get a prize for making sense out of what I post when I'm sleep-deprived and kind of angry.

I just found out Carl Laemmle was German-Jewish.

All this time I somehow thought he was French.

Something about it seems real public transport like.

    I do like it:
