holy crap I do not understand GIMP at all. Either I am a dummy (the more likely choice) or GIMP is really esoteric and difficult to use. Sadly, I haven't gotten Paint.NET to work yet.
What are you trying to do? I've been using GIMP for a couple years now, I think I have the hang of it.

math is a sufficiently broad subject that it's not impossible we discovered some stuff an alien race didn't, especially since our science was probably developed in a completely different environment from theirs
