It takes roughly three days for the TV Tropes Trash Heap to fill up a page of 25 posts, meaning that it averages at roughly 8 posts per day.

lol that thread used to get literally 500+ posts in a day.

I see a page that took 12 days to fill, making it more like 2 posts per day. And there are "thumped" posts on it. lol remember when people actually posted on TV Tropes

I'm pretty sure that at one point it was getting around a thousand posts a day

I just remembered, there are PMs on TVT I will never get to read because of how banning works. oh well. I should really divert my attention elsewhere and allow that shrinking corner of the internet to further decay.

This entire page is probably the best answer to that question. How are you?

My gf also drinks lactose-free milk. A few times, we made soy milk, but it was maybe a little tedious.

urgh. I just saw a video, uploaded by a Japanese fan for the sake of mockery, of an American noob playing Touhou and bitching about how it's too hard ("it's only stage 1 and the enemies are already shooting!"). The video's title implies that this is what happens when dumb westerners venture into "the east" (literally, "touhou"). I find this frustrating, because I and many other interested western players *do* get into these games, and understand them, and in some cases, achieve world record scores. Some of us invest a lot of time into these games. We all enjoy them, if we keep playing them. So, it bothers me when eastern hardcore players look at whatever the "mainstream" western view is of (in this case) Touhou and then use it as further evidence that westerners don't belong in this scene. Western players import things and sift through Japanese text online and in the games and make every effort to participate, even though the games themselves are officially kept to Japan, with few exceptions. Maybe I'm just expressing unfocused bitterness at mainstream western gaming culture. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into the way some Japanese people think of the west based on outward appearances. -shrug-

That reminds me, I kinda want to get a new computer to use exclusively for games.

btw Touhou is the literal best fandom ever, even if you only count the English speaking minority.

Why does almost every sugary "girly" tumblog I come across anymore have auto-play? All it does is slow down the blog even more. At one point I was going to make my blog really glittery and girly but it would feel too fake and also it would just be a pain and no one cares about that kind of thing, right? I think my blog looks nice enough.
  • Om nom nom

holy crap I do not understand GIMP at all. Either I am a dummy (the more likely choice) or GIMP is really esoteric and difficult to use. Sadly, I haven't gotten Paint.NET to work yet.

it kind of upsets me when people (not just you, Miko) act like people are inferior over something as (imo) trivial as being bad at a video game, or being frustrated by a video game which is legitimately more difficult than most video games they are likely to have played before

like, if Japanese Touhou fans think that about Western gamers then i am just like, sod them then for being so shallow and judgmental!  right?  i mean, for one it's ethnic stereotyping, and that's stupid, but for another it seems petty to look down on somebody for their tastes or abilities in video gaming

although i never knew how serious you were with the 'easy games/easy mode is for babies' thing but i found that legitimately insulting, although maybe that's a stupid thing to feel insulted by

actually serious question does this sound like i am disparaging you?

like sometimes when CA goes 'it's the 90s and we're not sorry' instead of responding to the content of something, or Anonus focuses on the backstage corporate side of things over the artistry, i have a gut reaction of distaste, which i immediately feel guilty over because it betrays my own prejudices in undervaluation of graphic design and lack of interest in the underlying business operations that make big-budget entertainment media possible, which is me being shallow, not anyone else's fault

so maybe i am arbitrarily undervaluing dedicated shmup playing here?

i don't mean to be nasty
