Yeah, right after I posted that I looked again and realized you were the one who reblogged it on my dash, lol

Anytime the Game Grumps are brought up on SA, people start talking about their romantic lives, time spent in high school, interpersonal struggles, pubic hair length, etc.
They don't do this about the Nostalgia Critic or Pewdiepie or what have you
every time i see old racist protest signs im amazed how neat and professional they are compared to modern racist protest signs
I have a sneaking suspicion that the laziness of American consumer culture hadn't really set in yet.
I honestly think it's because they don't really emphasize learning good handwriting in school anymore
I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing mind you, I had learning disability related writing issues in school which would have made attesting to learn such things hellish for me...

I admit, part of me is kinda sad that handwriting seems to be a dying art of sorts
Not that most people were ever that great at it, but I've seen older people's handwriting and it's really pretty because schools used to place a lot more emphasis on penmanship than they did even when I was growing up
I remember they taught us handwriting... sort of. I super sucked at it.
It baffles me how many people don't write in cursive. They made us write joined up and now i find it quite difficult and time consuming to just print letters. Apparently a lot of people just went right back to printing and forgot how to cursive.
If a level takes more than a few hours to beat, it's not worth beating

I enjoy taking on big challenges in games that I like, because the end result is higher skill, a deeper understanding, a nice replay to upload, and another personal achievement.
More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
Truthfully my Touhou skills were always shit when compared to score players, but I hoped that one day I could join in the *real* meta-game. I suppose I would have to just pick one game to focus on, though, and I like the whole series. Score-playing calls for a flawless Lunatic mode demonstration as a rite of passage, something I've never even come close to. :p Actually, the only shmup I have a respectable score in is Kamui, and that game is relatively beginner-friendly.

See, I sorta went halfway. When I reached the point where teachers stopped insisting on "proper" cursive, I ditched the cursive letters that seemed difficult or unintuitive to me (including most of the capitals) and kept the rest.
My handwriting is still terrible, but at least it's joined up! Not the capitals, though, I don't think they even taught us how to join those.
There was a girl I had a crush on all through sixth form who complimented me on my signature one time. Nobody else has ever said anything good about my handwriting, but that was the only time she ever complimented me.
I have a habit of talking to myself whilst playing video games. I walked out of my room and mum thought I was talking to my ex-girlfriend (we're friends again)

Tangentially related: I hate being told to initial something, because I can't think of any even slightly stylized way to write "TH"

The next week, she came up to me and said "I've still got Emily hair!"
Two years later, she still has it.

My handwriting when I was 10: shit
My handwriting at 19 years: shit
