Tvtropes is hilariously angry over Cracked dissing MRAs
link?
Angelslayer: This J.F. Sargent article about the Men's Rights Movement starts out by comparing the MRM to neo-Nazis and placing blame on them for the Rodgers killings, and it just keeps going downhill from there, generalizing the entire mens right movement as a bunch of whiny, self-entitled, misogynistic babies. The article seems to think reddit is a good source, and that's in the very first point... it's really quite a tip-off about the quality of the article. The whole thing reads like the sort of garbage you'd see on a radical feminist blog on Tumblr, not on a humor site. This just goes to show how far Cracked has fallen in recent years.
Mewlettucerush seconded so hard although for a while I still read Cracked for the history articles (which are pretty awesome) this guaranteed I wont be returning to the site anytime soon.

You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
I just kinda worry because it comes mostly from reading years and years of wikis and the like...I'm underlining names of characters and locations the first time I mention them, as though I was linking to the relevant article. >_<
I guess it helps me see how my characters and stuff relate to each other, but it feels kinda spergtastic...
just get a wiki for this stuff mon
I tried that for like two days before I found out I like writing it out with pencil and paper better...
well, then what you're doing is basically the paaper qequivalent, which is like totally legit
"I could stay depressed about my bad memory, but that's a negative way to live. Let's look on the bright side and list the advantages of having a bad memory. (1) You can reread a book and see a movie over and over and enjoy it as much as the first time. (2) If you make an inconvenient promise, you can pretend that you forgot about it and still be forgiven. (3) This is the most important thing: you can keep coming up with ideas without being held back by convictions or the past."

Having a bad memory? Must be nice, not constantly being haunted by stupid things you've said and done over the span of your life...
As far as I can tell, most of TVT's current users think little of MRMers, and I know for a fact that Eddie loathes them, but I suppose that there are a few stragglers that survived the purge.
^ I stumbled upon it somehow and it made me smile. That this game exists makes me smile.
I kinda wish you played more video games, Sredni. You'd probably have a lot of cool stuff to say about them.
I have poor reflexes and hand-eye coordination, so anything that requires quick reactions is out of the question. I am very attracted to open-world exploration games, however, and puzzle games and the like are quite fun as well; I also find the possibilities inherent in visual novels and certain kinds of RPGs really intriguing.

I think Morrowind (and to a lesser extent the rest of the TES series) would be your bag, then. It's an open world game with a pervading atmosphere of eldritch weirdness. It is not always well executed, but there's some really good "weird fantasy" stuff in there. Oblivion and Skyrim, which came afterwards, were better executed but largely reside in the realm of hard fantasy. They do keep a bit of the weird fantasy trappings of Morrowind, but it's mostly swept under the rug.
Barkley, Shut up and Jam: Gaiden is not only the best JRPG that exists, it is the best JRPG that can exist.
That's a little bit much, but it's certainly up there.
Same with Yume Nikki.
Sredni, there's this one text-based adventure game that's based around a device that can change items by removing one letter from their name. Change a pear into a pea (or a severed ear, if you're feeling clever). It has a whole alternate history based around and under it, and I'm sure you'd--Counterfeit Monkey, that's it! Go find Counterfeit Monkey!
Yume Nikki is one of the few works of fiction I would willingly describe as "life changing", though that is certainly not going to be true of everyone who plays it, it was for me.

I remember Mirror's Edge being like that for me (which is not a Sredni game; reflexes and fast timing are everything). Also maybe Fallout 3. Probably The Book Thief and The Messenger, if we're going into books. But I digress.
Yume Nikki is definitely a game that'd I'd call life changing. Not necessarily to me, but in general. The amount of artistic talent that went into its construction, along with the sheer uniqueness of it, allows it to be ludicrously effective at making an impact. And it did make an impact on me. It's just that the years have lessened it's effect on me on account of my memory being sieve-like.
I personally remember being more affected by LSD Simulator (as opposed to LDS Simulator, where you just lose points whenever you try to drink coffee), but I remember spending more time on Yume Nikki.

just how explicitly anti-MRA r/malefashionadvice is
like, as a very popular male-focused subreddit you'd think that wouldn't be the case

Reception to this opinion has not always been warm.
I swear, you are going to drive me insane one of these days.

primarily by way of having adverse effects on my grades during sophomore year, but that still counts

"Rewarding" might be an odd word, but I can think of no better one right now.
