At several spots along the road, standard-looking travel distance signs are posted. However, the cities and towns listed on these signs do not exist within Centralia, or indeed, any other known nation.

Furthermore, if the supposed destinations did exist, they would be impossible to reach from this highway, as all the distances listed are longer than the short 5 miles of roadway.

My heapnation headcannon for Yarrun is that he is a sort of freelance adventurer or Knight-errant who refuses to be held down by land or landed titles. (Goldenmace comes from a nickname from my thread). Mostly because that's what he said he would probably be.

But it's not incompatible with legendary carjacker.
