that thing he's holding is a sweeper which can be used to suck up time crystals which are themselves physical manifestations of time
if you got X number of crystals in a row, you got uses of various time powers (off the top of my head I remember Pause, Rewind, Fast Forward, and Record, but I think there were more) that you could use to fight enemies and solve various puzzles.
the sweeper could also suck up garbage which you could use to shoot things, or you could save it until the end of the level and earn money which you could use to buy more stuff.
my main problem with the game in retrospect was that it got oddly grindy toward the end, you'd have to run levels a bunch of times to get enough gold to unlock the last couple upgrades.
it's also got a bad reputation because Blinx was sort of supposed to be to the Xbox what Mario was to Nintendo consoles or Sonic to Sega consoles, but the first game did only okay, and the second game bombed, so they never made anymore.
I wonder who owns the IP nowadays, I'd love to see more Blinx.
I wish there was some viable system to get unused characters and other IPs into the public domain. Microsoft is clearly not doing anything with the property and I'm sure there are at least a half dozen competent indie devs who'd love to get a hold of Blinx.

Hey, man, Disney's IP hoarding bugs me too
Though that applies mostly to TV shows and not games (though Disney owns the LucasArts library now, they apparently don't care about it and, worse yet, Monkey Island is similar enough to Pirates of the Caribbean that they might be sitting on that franchise on purpose)
Problem with Bubsy was: it wanted to have this "gotta go fast" thing, except Bubsy was a one hit kill and there were no powerups or rings or anything like that to protect you. You also could die by falling too far. So you really couldn't go all SUPERFAST ACROBATIC like you wanted to because you'd die in 2 seconds.

That is my official review
In Bubsy 2 you could take multiple hits, not that it made it any better.
Maybe part of the reason Sonic's star has waned is that he was designed to appeal to kids in a certain time period, whereas Mario was designed to be easy to render given limited technology.
incidentally, i like Native Faith more than its remix (Kero 9 Destiny)
while i prefer Cirno's Perfect Math Class (the remix) over its original, Beloved Tomboyish Girl
same with preferring Marisa Stole the Precious Thing (the remix) over its original, Doll Judgement
iosys remixes are fan remixes and therefore inferior to their source material imo. Also, all three of these original tracks have remixed versions by U2 Akiyama (possibly NKZ on the latter) in the fighting game soundtracks, which are canon. :3
you shouldn't fan remixes to be inferior simply because they are fan remixes. every pair of tracks should be evaluated on a case by case basis.
Does he? I tend to not know if people are autistic unless I literally ask (I myself am perfectly neurotypical as far as I'm aware) so I might just not have a grasp on that kind of thing

Don't get me wrong, I liked XP well enough back in the day.
It's just that every time I go to use it now, I'm faced with the many little irritants that have been fixed in subsequent versions. For example, the inability to reorder taskbar buttons.
Not to mention that using XP with an internet connection is quickly going to become a security nightmare now that it's no longer getting any updates or patches...

Also, I personally have never had any problems with Windows 8.x on a technical level. It seems at least as stable as Windows 7 in that regard.
It's the user interface that makes it an infuriating mess.

I've become accustomed enough to Windows 8 over the past year or so that I don't really feel a need to install a third-party Start menu. I mean, I still don't like the Start screen, but I'm used to it, you know? *shrug*
Also, I'm wondering what Microsoft is planning to do wrt bringing back the Start menu. I've heard rumors that it might not be a thing until Windows 9, but...surely Microsoft isn't stupid enough to make the return of a popular removed feature a PAID update, are they? My guess is that they'll call it Windows 8.2 or Windows 8.1 Update 2 and make it a free patch...

i think this practice is a holdover from years ago when i was concerned that such patches would prevent me from using certain online features (such as torrents) or visiting certain sites

There was nothing I hated more than when my family members would stubbornly refuse to patch their systems, then come to me expecting me to fix things when their computers inevitably ended up compromised.
Not to say that a fully-patched system can't be compromised, 'cause obviously no software is bulletproof, but I think it's fair to say that if you expect me to bail you out you ought to at least put in a bit of effort into preventive maintenance.

See, I can understand just forgetting to update, but by default Windows automatically checks for updates every so often, and they would MANUALLY CANCEL IT EVERY TIME

There was also another one that came out recently that I am forgetting the name of. Something something Tinker Toy Town or something.

I played Bubsy 2, and it was amazing how many little things that make platformers good and tolerable were not done.
yet, only one of these characters has had an indie reboot courtesy of The Arcane Kids
wake up sheeple

Granted, if more of the Sonic games that came out were like Colors I'd like the series more than I do.
XP is second best windows version behind 7
because i have some trouble with the camera angles in Super Mario 64 and Crash Bandicoot (even though yes they're fun)
ALL HAIL THE GREAT WINDOWS XP, GALE OF DARKNESS
and it doesn't bluescreen ALL THE DAMN TIME like win98 did
And Danica Patrick
"Software designers hate him for this one stubborn practice!"
i should probably find an arch version of libressl or something if i'm going to be at all security conscious
