Brief investigation into Magic Lore has taught me this:
Nothing good happens to the protagonist of Magic stories. And I mean nothing.
Let's count them shall we?
Vampirism, repeatedly dying at the hands of a sadistic wizard, getting tricked into killing your lover, getting trapped beneath the earth with a substance that gradually turns you evil, an evil borg-cult absorbing your entire home universe, pretty much anything that results in a planeswalker being born, pretty much anything that happens to humans in Innistrad, and so on, and so on, and so on. The only way to survive a novel is to be the main character and/or a planeswalker, and even then you'll get screwed over and maybe die.
Never appear in a Magic novel, people. I cannot tell you how terribly it'll turn out for you.
Well, stories about magic usually have the theme "do not meddle with magic or you will destroy yourself and those around you," eh? Unless it's a Disney thing but those are for wusses and/or Anonus
For Ryuko they picked a rather inexperienced VA apparently, she sounds fine, but not particularly distinctive. Mako comes about as close to the original in terms of tone as you can get, but I think that kind of fast-talking she does is basically impossible in English.
I run certain rap albums (eg. Don Trip & Starlito's Step Brothers, to name a recent-ish example) into the ground. The ones that persist are the truly great ones. The rest are "just" very good, and that is also OK.
I've talked before about how I hate it when people are disappointed with something being "just good", so it'd be hypocritical of me to make a very similar misjudgment.
also unrelatedly even if you never play the game the Transistor soundtrack is terrific on its own merits, even if its missing some of the cooler "Processed" remixes of songs in the game.
But yeah, I understand where you're coming with this, Kex. I'm just kind of jaded by this kind of thing now. After finding Unspeakable Thing #1 five years ago, whenever I find something creepy I can just go 'well, at least it isn't Unspeakable Thing #1'.
I can also understand where you're coming from, Kex
I don't really know how to regard kinks of that kind... they make me uncomfortable, but there's all kinds of weird kinks and in a consensual relationship I don't really see the harm
also I'm not sure how far these things are within anyone's control so I guess I'm not sure what's to be gained by reasoning with them anyway
speaking of albums of the 2000s. I listened to Give Up by The Postal Service while I was away, and I didn't expect to like it, but I did.
I actually really greatly enjoy "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight". Something about that chorus is fantastic.
Hehe, that's one of my favorite albums ever, actually. I would've covered one of the songs from it instead of Evan & Chan (which, while not on their album, is essentially the song that created the Postal Service) but I found out E&C's chord progression naturally while I was fooling around with Audiotool and it skyrocketed into Hell from there.

Everyone else they seem to have basically nailed though. DubSatsuki is life.

I didn't actually let him touch anything, I know if I did he would've fooled with it.
Still a douchebag for the most part though.
My own music might be on hold for a little while, I need to prep some stuff to send to Stripes.

Makes what is technically dubstep but it sounds nothing like say, Skrillex.
It's one of a lot of peoples' favorite albums of the 2000s.
What little material he's put out since has been equally great, though different in small ways.
Or at least until I get bored. Hasn't lost any of its luster to me, but you listen to more electronica than I do, so maybe there's something you see that I don't (or the inverse).
Untrue is also a great sleeping record, something I value. Unlike many sleeping records, I also listen to it when awake.

really
really good
my signature relates to it.
It is a line from "We All Become", my favorite song on the soundtrack.
I like Transistor much better than Bastion, though. Even as much as I liked Bastion (and I did).

also I really like the new TRVRWHTVR branding. It's very current without looking overly trendy.
