Liar Liar just makes me think of that time Anonus and I watched most of it together on ABC Family...
The incongruity is what makes that film work for me, actually.
His shtick somehow works better when plopped into a somewhat normal situation than it does when he's playing his usual wacky characters. For me, it manages to save what would otherwise be a mediocre family comedy.
^^ OK, The Truman Show. But there's not much else worth mentioning.
^ Wacky comedians can play straight dramatic roles, so the assumption there is a little irksome, buuuut...
Yeah, you're right, but he was a really unconvincing lawyer. I heard he was really good in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and I'm not really opposed to him being in a non-comedic role, but I don't think it really worked in Liar Liar.

Thing is, a realistic depiction of a lawyer really doesn't have a lot of comedy potential.
I dunno if you've ever seen real-life courtroom proceedings, but they tend to be full of incredibly dull bureaucratic stuff that's only of interest to the people who actually have a stake in the case.

I'm not asking for realism, just that hopping up and down like a madman and screaming just doesn't feel believable. Realism and believability are two different things.

I still haven't seen that somehow, at least not for more than five minutes, but what smidgen I have makes me really want to see more.
As an aside, I don't necessarily think that Carrey is an awful actor, but his comedy style just bugs the hell out of me.
Soy is agribusiness' second biggest product after corn, little of either of which actually goes into food. Most is either used as feed for livestock or, in the case of the latter, made into corn syrup. And it's all subsidised despite Monsanto being one of the biggest businesses in the country, as well as a noted polluter and general plague upon mankind.

it's a browser based video game about controlling the wwii era japanese navy (turned into moë girls, of course) against ships from literal hell (which may or may not have anything to do with the us navy)

That's....actually rather tame compared to what I was expecting

I love soy milk.

MONSANTOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Mom's friend Lori is a bit of a pain at times but she helped me get her to bed, so I can't be mad.
Uncle Scott said he'd hop over tomorrow to visit. I guess that's fine, at least he's concerned for his sister, unlike my one aunt and my grandmother.
