Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
Also, @ discussion on "make my own": I still have desires to make my own stuff, as my earlier ramblings have sometimes mentioned. Though sometimes, I wonder if they really would make viable story ideas instead of just things to amuse myself briefly.

squid: Sort of the same here, but my thought was if I turned some of my stories into a group roleplay, the fact that several people have input on how things are going will help make the story better.
Though I think it would be better if I kept some things as daydreams. A little indulgence in private here and there couldn't hurt.

I just realized something. Two of my roleplay ideas could actually take place in the same universe. Not only that, but the artifacts that set off the plot of the "mutant snake heroes" story could explain what happened to one character from the "orphaned dragon joins the wizard/adventurers guild" story.
I'm strangely happy that it can all fit together like that.

squid: It's all right. It's a bit of a weird reason, admittedly.
Thinking about it, the reason I think about snakes more often than crocodilians seems to be because snakes are often smarter in the realm of fantasy. Crocs and gators are more of your proud warrior race, which has its appeal, but I like the smart and mystical feel of fantasy snakes a little more.
Of course, in real life, they're both kind of dummies, since they're sort of programmed for basic survival skills only. But that's a completely different story.
I have created so much jargon for this game, I hope it won't alienate too many people.
Do you guys think six card elements (Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Light, and Darkness) is too much/too little? They don't affect anything really, except that you can't have any more than three different elements in your Spellbook (that is, your deck). I did have Wood and Metal in there too, which, while a cool concept, would probably have just made things overcomplicated.

^^^Yep. 17 of them. Though some of them do overlap a bit thematically, like Rock, Ground, and Steel.
The Yu-Gi-Oh elements should work well enough, I think.
Do you think I should change it? I kind of want to avoid copying as much as possible.
I mean, elements here overlap (a card can have as many as three of them), but do you think people would raise a ruckus about that sort of thing? Prismatica Points are already basically mana.

Actually, that might not be a bad idea. Personally, I'd replace Light and Dark with Electricity and Wood, but you can change them out however you like.

Huh, never thought about that before. Makes sense enough.
In terms of magic elements, I always thought of electricity as a cross between air and light that happens to work well with water.
I kind of like Light and Shadow, and I do feel they're different enough from their YuGiOh incarnations that they're really not similar, but I feel that people would go "LOL, RIPOFF" and just not give it a second thought.
Also it's really hard to make spells for wood. Metal less so, but I mean c'mon, how do you make wood intimidating?

Lazuli: It's a bit limited, but I'd think having plants grow in/through you or turning into a plant would be less than pleasant. Pokémon attacks could also be helpful here, like maybe Solarbeam.

I got ninja'd by your last question. If it's not too much trouble, you could keep 5 of the 6 other elements and have Light and Shadow be 6 and 7.
I don't really want to copy Pokemon either, Gator. No offense.
What I've done is changed "Darkness" to "Shadow" and made its color purple as opposed to black. Wood and Metal have been placed under Earth. To avert the annoying tendency of "Earth" and "Rock" being synonymous.

Six is an ideal number for the amount of elements, imo.

Weird. O_o
Great singer..too bad she died...
Oi.

It does, but Pokemon this is not.
There are no monsters whatsoever. At least, I do not currently plan on there being any.
Oh shit, that is the YuGiOh elements isn't it?

IS MARCHING ON
AND TIME
IS STILL MARCHING ON
Electricity was going to be covered under Fire though (as was all high energy stuff, including lasers.)
I suppose I can change Light and Shadow back to Wood and Metal.
On the other hand I may be fretting over nothing.

ON
TRASH
I suppose I could call them Light and Shadow as opposed to Light and Darkness.
Do you think that would work?
"I'm a dark elf."

BLOWING THROUGH THE JASMINE IN MY MIIIIIND
oh!
oh!
Better idea. Light and Shadow become Creation and Destruction instead. Or perhaps Life and Death. Something similar but distinct.
