One of the comments on that article says that paedophilia is rampant in Hollywood. Given how common the "former child star whose life imploded" trope is, I wouldn't be surprised there was a lot of abuse (sexual or otherwise) going on.

When a major public body is embroiled in a paedophilia scandal, people get on edge. Shocking, I'm sure.
He produces a bunch of kidcoms for Nick, particularly iCarly and Sam & Cat. Apparently some of the weirder scenes in some of his shows made people think he was the next Lou Pearlman or something; this is the first I've heard of it, anyway.

You would be amazed how quickly one turns into another. I'm not saying you're a rape apologist, but these kinds of things shouldn't ever be immediately dismissed, no, not even "this person is a pedophile who molested non-specific children" allegations.
like, about a year back this person on tumblr accused the then lead singer of Gaza of raping her. And I most definitely believed that, due to the specificity and detail of the allegations and also because it fit in with other known things about the guy.
