My two immediate best male/female friends respectively use Android and iOS
I'm an Android guy as far as my phone is concerned but I like my iPod touch even though it's aging pretty badly (the sooner Apple introduces a new version, the better-- I had a second generation model and I have the fourth, so now I'm just waiting on the sixth)

Android is far from perfect, but I like that it gives me a greater level of control than iOS devices. I can sideload apps and flash custom roms and do all this sort of tinkering...

Yeah, that's my main draw toward it too, honestly
iOS has the advantage of a more coherent experience across devices and a fuller app ecosystem but Android's inherently more customizable nature makes it very attractive for those who prefer their experiences to be unique.

It's not a "push the disc back into the drive" button...
because the symbol has been so abstracted from its original meaning that it exists atomically as an 'eject' symbol for many, and was used here without consideration of any further connotations it might have
