  • Also, for immortal dragons, dragons in Dark Souls are oddly mortal.

what about the Eternal Dragon Whelp? 2stoic4u

Everlasting Dragon would probably die if you cut enough bits off of it. Just, yannow, game restrictions.
  • I'm gonna buy Bark Souls 2: Dog Pun here,

but I'm left at an empasse, cause my birthday is less than 2 weeks away, should I place it on my birthday(bother my family and other people) list, or should I just buy it myself.

Mind you, I would also have to buy a console.
  • For once, or maybe twice, I was in my prime.
In fiction, challenges mainly exist to be overcome. And "you can't kill that" is one hell of a challenge.

he's the only character in the game you can't kill though, right?

You can't kill Frampt or Kaathe, either. You'll just annoy them.

do they go away forever though?

Yes. But not by dying. They just go "Screw you, you're on your own now." and leave.

You should write a cracked article "Cracked writers who have become parodies of themselves"
  • Then write like 5 more articles about cracked writers, then write a cracked article "These 6 cracked articles are actually about cracked writers"
  • Then when the inevitable angry comments start swarming in, you should write an article about other people who have written cracked articles about cracked writers.

"These cracked writers only talk about cracked articles"

LONDON, 2013. Serial killings have reached epidemic proportions-even with the widespread government use of DNA detection, brain-imaging, and the "punitive coma." Beautiful, whip-smart, and driven by demons of her own, Detective Isadora "Jake" Jacowicz must stop a murderer, code-named "Wittgenstein," who has taken it upon himself to eliminate any man who has tested positive for a tendency towards violent behavior-even if his victim has never committed a crime.

Philip Kerr is winning more acclaim than ever for his beloved Bernie Gunther series and-with Kerr's higher profile-A Philosophical Investigation is poised to capture an all-new readership with its riveting tale of a killer whose intellectual brilliance is matched only by his homicidal madness.

TIL Mario was once twice as fast as Sonic, and that Sonic never reached half the speed of sound... and that Dr. Robotnik is the fastest-running creature in Sonic's universe. :p

    ugh, Game Theory

    i despise those videos
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
there is that part in Sonic 2 where Robotnik runs as fast as Sonic does

    doesn't seem right
  • Only thing I don't like about those videos is the one about the Fus Ro Dah. Because it's not the sound generating the force; it's reality being rewritten by the words spoken.

everything about those videos annoys me

it's smug bullshit, usually calculated to ruffle feathers in the gaming community, constructed from cherry-picked arguments that veer between overanalysis and oversimplification depending on what's the most irritating, and the whole thing's interspersed with purposefully inflammatory comments, as if to say 'oh look at me, look how bloody clever i am, so much smarter than all those other gamers'

even the voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me

    that horrible nasal, affected sneer
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
meandering conjecture is fine when it's not obnoxious

You know when i was getting irritated with those PBS Idea Channel vids?  Those are a million times better than Game Theory

    Game Theory is the worst

also when Idea Channel go 'here's an idea' they mean 'here's an idea, isn't it neat to consider this?'

when Game Theory go 'it's just a theory' they're absolving themselves of responsibility for their stupid thesis which they otherwise present as the undeniable truth (while deliberately misunderstanding narrative conventions, genre conventions and technological limitations whenever it suits them)

I dunno, that just seems like it's a more obnoxious-sounding version of Life Force with a less interesting powerup system.

You can try to argue with me about console ports of shmups, but you will lose. ;3 Everything wrong with Salamander on NES, paraphrased, by Miko:

-Gradius power-up system implemented without accounting for a lack of checkpoints and item distribution; as a result, the ship powers up wayyy too slow and can't recover when hit.
-For a baffling reason unbeknownst to Miko, stage 4 became stage 2, and vice versa.
-Where is the wonderful voice acting???
-The ship can only have 2 options instead of 4, for no discernible reason...? NES Gradius did that too, and it's stupid.
-ummm, ok it isn't *that* bad a port but Gradius 1 and 3 for consoles are sins against humanity.
and suddenly i wonder why i'm making a big deal out of this

sorry, i know i do that a lot
    *pat pat*
  • I agree that the lack of recovery is difficult in an entirely unengaging way, but other than that, the powerup system works very well and the slow buildup serves to make the game more difficult and interesting. Also, the lack of options was probably because of sprite limitations. There's already a bit of slowdown and flickering when you have 2.
