I am trying to learn C++; I wonder if this is a sisyphean task or not? I want to make pretty games!
C++ is powerful, but it's also not exactly pretty, either; probably the most odd thing about it is the template system, which is how you can make a Perfectly Generic Object that works with most any data type. Also, a few things about it are different from plain C, for what seems to be completely arbitrary reasons, though they do make sense in context; if you've never used plain C, this will be less odd.

I played Cho Ren Sha 68K up to stage 5/7 in the second loop. I didn't die until the last boss and then after that, recovering was really hard. I'm sure no one cares.
A loop is when an old game (especially a shmup) repeats itself because it ran out of content, but loops always get harder until it's unreasonably hard. Recovering is when you die and you lose all of your power-ups, and then you try to power back up again without being overwhelmed by enemies. If you're up against dozens of powerful enemies and you just died, recovering in an old shmup is really hard.
