so my space heater just shut off, and I unplugged it, and now realize that there is brown gunk all around the plug and the socket said plug goes in to.
I should like, probably be concerned about this, right?
on the other hand I can't exactly not have a heater up here, it's supposed to go down to 12 below tonight.

i've had that happen w/ an old one, stuff started melting 'cause the cord got too hot
leave it unplugged, grab an extra blanket and wait an hour before plugging it back in

I'm posting from the G3 -- it finally got here! It's a lot faster than the 6360....it's still a tad slow (Classilla in OS 9.2.2 will drag horribly unless you turn JavaScript off), but at least the screen works properly now. It has enough video memory to do thousands of colors at 1024x768, for one.

I'm quite concerned about that, especially given how literally this entire house is made of things that are ultra-flammable (wood floors, very old and dry wallpaper, etc. etc. etc.)
Are there any clean ones around not currently in use? Because you could always put those on top of that one...

Dude, get the extra blankets. I think I can understand your concerns there, but warmth is the imperative here.

I think you can tell by the specific shade of red and where, specifically, it is red (eg. I think Macintosh apples are a sort of lighter red on the top and then dapple to a greenish color lower down).

It seems to be okay for the time being. if it came to that I could, but I don't like using blankets I don't also wash myself. I guess it doesn't matter much anymore now that we're a laundromat family, but still.
I can't really eat raw fruit without getting an itchy throat though.
