The one brony musician I like enough to follow, just makes instrumental EDM stuff. It's "brony music" only because puts a picture of Twilight Sparkle on the cover art.
Unfortunately, he removed about half of his old songs from the internet because he doesn't like them anymore.
christian metal is like either really cool or really shit with very little in between
Such is most explicitly religious modern/rockish music.
I don't think there's a real difference between religious music and political music.
I would say that they carry different kinds and levels of personal import, which gives each their own unique set of pitfalls. But you are right in that they have similar strengths and problems.
...although really right-wing music, especially with a nationalist edge, tends to be pretty bad for various reasons. And where it overlaps with religious music, there is much pain.
i cant think of any political music off the top of my head except SOAD and that one libertarian Iced Earth side project
Anarcho-punk is pretty explicitly political. I mean, it's in the name. There's also plenty of explicitly political music that isn't actually called that; look at '60s folk, post-punk and the like. So I get what he's saying there.

Arguably, Stereolab.
But I didn't mean bands that sing about politics all the time. I just meant any time a band takes a break from whatever they usually sing about to tell everyone how bad that other political party is.
come to think of it i generally dislike punk due to the sheer number of self-righteous, pseudo-intellectual, hypocritical assholes that populate its ranks
He's just kind of been a prick, and the way that he runs his record company is questionable. It's hard to explain. And that's setting aside the political stuff, although his opinions tend to be more hyperbolic than truly repulsive.

Did anybody save them?
I'm reminded of MaxieDaMan. I found a place full of MP3s of his songs once, but I neglected to download them. >_>
Then he ended up taking his songs down from YouTube with no explanation that I remember...

shitty white reactionary crypto-fascist music
I like The Clash and think The Minutemen are alright.
aside from that I can't name any punk bands I enjoy.

I did. At least, I have copies of every song of his I'm aware of. It's possible a few slipped through the cracks.
legitimately one of the saddest things i've ever read, but not in the way it was intended
He's tooting his horn a bit much, but he's not wrong about most of punk being musically reactionary and uninteresting. Crass, to their credit, were at least aware that radical format was frequently as important as radical content.

Incredible amounts of self-seriousness aside (excepting the A$AP Ferg verse), this song is pretty good.

we used to laugh at him for it, but lately i can kinda get it
i mean, it's upbeat, if nothing else

like, a great deal of classic punk, for instance
aside from that I can't name any punk bands I enjoy.
but then they didn't start out as a punk band and didn't really stay that way, either
they started out punk
most of their songs are explicitly political, but it's good music in its own right
