do we ever talk about lit analysis? a few authors get mentioned here fairly often (Ligotti, Pynchon, Beckett, Kafka, Joyce - none of whom i am greatly familiar with) but we don't really analyse them much

Maybe just media analysis then, I don't know. Just saying I'm as out of the loop about some of the discussions you guys have here as you feel you are about music.

Do you have reasons for this, or is it just an emotional thing?
Mega Man (in particular 2) has some of the few chiptunes I actually quite enjoy, and I don't really like the kind of rock music Protomen put out. So combining the two makes me like it less than if it had just been that kind of rock music on its own.

Christian rock. Nerdcore. Filk songs. Comedy music. Brony music.
All scenes where the fan base considers some external factor to be at least as important as the music itself. The net effect is that the musical standards are lowered for the musicians who have that factor.

Updated the Zestpoole thread, btw
this song also has the only not-awful Ytcracker verse.

The fact that there are at least three Mega Man-based musical acts says a lot about something, what I don't know.

Things Normal People Don't Do:
Name your children after infectious diseases.
Make a statue of Jawaharlal Nehru out of chewed gum.
Go to public restrooms and take all the paper towels and use them to make a big pile to jump in.
Pick the noses of sleeping dogs.
Fill a bathtub with milk and do I have to finish this sentence?
Eat cereal with a spatula.
Put pants on your head and shirts on your knees.
Buy jello in bulk and fill a swimming pool with it.
Use library books as coloring books.
Take a pillow behind your head and stick your arms up in the pillowcase and pretend that you don't have arms.
Keep your toenails in a filing cabinet.
Hide in the closets of people you don't know.
Do you know what you could do to change that?
