    t. I beat all the bosses up to Dracula. Stopped playing at the entrance of The Guy's castle
  • I know, but still, it just seems like the type of thing that'd be hard for me to find pleasurable

I have the same issue with Touhou, honestly

Dracula was a bitch though, most of the fight is luck based

Man, you guys ever play old Sierra games?  Like King's Quest?

I figured out Ifnkovhgroghprm all by myself.  It came naturally to me, because athbash cipher has always been my go-to secrety-secret for writing (most people just go with sdrawkcab gnitirw for secrets in jornals).  Aliroz becomes Zorila.  Once you get used to athbash, it's rather intuitive.

But man, those games were hard, back in the days before Gamefaqs and online walkthroughs.

I remember when Gamewinners came out and it was the most amazing thing because suddenly I could cheat in any game and it was like the greatest thing ever.

    I played Leisure Suit Larry.
Those games really loved killing you and then laughing at you for it
  • other neat things going on in this game rn:

Anglo-Saxon England ("Angland") due to the lack of a Norman invasion that is quite strong.

Still-pagan Norway that is conquering most of Scandinavia.

Teutonic Order blobbing out and conquering much of the heavily-balkanized eastern european territories. Which prior to this consisted mostly of small pagan and Tengri kingdoms.

Bavaria occupies much of the territory of the HRE, but is a single, unified state. Very dangerous.

How am I supposed to pronounce Tsurepettan?

I can't pronounce "tsu" that's impossible.  I can't say Tsuris.  If there's a vowel in front of it, like Frotsu; then yeah, but I can't pronounce it anymore than I can pronounce "Tlaloc".  I could pronounce Twaloc or Traloc, but "tl"?  No, no no.  Can't pronounce "Ksenil" or such a sound.  I could say backsenil, tough.  Or Ikson.

    "Ch" is really a tsh noise. Make a t-sound, make a sh-sound.

    Now, say "tsunami."

Ks is harder to do because k and s are in different parts of the mouth. T and s are not.

I can't say Tsunami.  It is always soo naw mee.  OR Tah-soo-naw-me.

So, I would say it Chu-naw-me?  Or otshurus for tsuris?  But try to pronounce the "O" the same way I pronounce the g in "fishing", with the sound-stop-cut-off thing?

Angland is ruled by a Queen (Ealhflaed), because of the game mechanics, we don't know her husband's name.

Gargamel III is the King of France, and Filippo de Mantua is his heir (and presumably his son, but again, that is not made explicit to us here).

The reason he is shown is because France and Angland have a royal marriage (whom is married to whom exactly, is again left vague).

    Hmmm.  Suspicious.

Could it be possible for Gargamel's wife (and Filippo's mother) to be Ealhflaed?

We can actually rule that out.

Because if that was the case, Ealhflaed's heir (also named Ealhflaed, presumably a daughter) would be, at bare minimum, of House de Mantua. Where she is explicitly of House Saxon-Hvitserk, which is her mother's dynasty.

It is more likely that say, Gargamel's brother is married to Ealhflaed's sister, or something of that nature.

At the moment that your tongue retracts from forming the t, let your breath out, making a hiss. That is how both ch and ts work. The difference is that in ch, the tongue whole tongue is drawn down; in ts, only the tip descends, creating a narrower passage, making an s instead of a sh.

    Precisely.

Also, Sigsbee, to be perfectly honest, that linked diatribe doesn't make very much sense at all, nor does what you said about it. Other than that Fighteer banned you, I have no idea what to make of anything that you have said.

The more clearly you label the forum rules, the less likely any new guy is to actually read them. That's a law of the internet or something.

Well, on many computers, it's hard to actually access threads that are stickied or so positioned.

Remember when I couldn't get to the "report bugs here" thread because La Computadora wouldn't let me access stickied threads, or any thread other than the first non-sticked thread?
