good night Miko, have pretty danmaku dreams
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”

also Switch revoked my access again, so I do need to find a new WAV->MP3 converter.

Y'know, you can do that in iTunes.
I don't know how to do anything in iTunes because it's awful, slow, obtuse software.

    Please, enlighten me.
Select the tracks you want converted to MP3, right-click and scroll down to "convert to MP3."

If you want to specify MP3 quality on conversion and when, say, ripping CDs, go to the menu, select "Preferences," and then toggle with the import settings.
  • I'm kind of shocked that MAID is actually a Japanese product.

You know, when you first talked about wanting to batch convert audio files my first thought was "I bet there's a way to do that from the command line with ffmpeg!"

    I'm a dork

That's super-easy, though. It's not obtuse at all.

I thought that "when in doubt, right-click stuff" was a universal computer rule.

Same here, though I was thinking of SoX until I noticed it doesn't support MP3 (or at least the version packages with Debian 7.4 doesn't).

more specifically what the Rough Riders and his brutal involvement in the Spanish-American war has to do with cars.
  • Absolutely nothing, as far as I'm aware.
  • I'm making a mixtape for my best friend's unbirthday, and with that, possibly trying my hand at radio DJing (or at least reading a script in such a style, anyway)

Hopefully it won't suck. She loved it last year though, so maybe my experiments may pay off.

if a picture is worth a thousand words, why do we bother writing words? why don't we just train everyone to be supergreat artists and then they can draw whatever they mean?

A picture is worth a thousand words, but it's more like a word magnet than the way we communicate which is through a word juicer.

Just because a picture picks up a word, doesn't make it suitable to put in the juice known as dialogue.

I go to weird places for metaphors.

I ahve this stuck in my head again:

Just...what freaking pedal(s) did they use to get that guitar tone at the beginning? I figure an auto-wah and a phaser are involved, but I don't have either to play with, so I can't be sure.

fun fact: it is literally impossible to buy a used copy of Blue version that doesn't feature a rival w/ a homophobic slur for a name.

I'm actually trying to decide whether to plunk down the cash for a GBC and Red/Blue, or just get FR/LG since I have a DS that can take GBA carts.
  • Cretin-Derham Hall High School (CDH) is a private, co-educational Catholic high school located in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, it is co-sponsored by the Brothers of the Christian Schools and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Cretin High School was named for Joseph Crétin, the first Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint Paul, while Derham Hall High School was named for Hugh Derham, a Minnesotan farmer who donated money to start an all-female Catholic boarding school. The school describes itself as committed to Christian values and academic excellence. As a college preparatory school, it seeks to prepare each student for success in both post-secondary education and in life, through academic rigor and commitment to service.

the latter, FR/LG is a definite upgrade unless you're doing in strictly for the nostalgia value and you need those weird/shitty old school sprites.

also while we're on the subject, the Rabbids are called "Les Lapins Cretins" in French, mostly because the rabbit/rabid pun wouldn't work

    Ray is still Rayman though

It's definitely some kind of combined filtering/phasing thing. Palm muting, too.
